Today the Presentation Sisters pass on the lantern – the tradition of faith and service as lived at St Mary’s College – to our Archbishop with the request to take on responsibility for its governance and to take it into the future as an Archdiocesan College, still animated by the charism of Nano Nagle and supported by the Presentation Sisters

I formally accept your request to transfer the governance of St Mary’s College to the Archdiocese of Hobart.

I accept this lantern as a symbol of that transfer and assure you that the Governing Council will be mindful of the charism and tradition that it represents.
