Light Spectrum

Light is the very small

part of the

electromagnetic

spectrum

visible to the human eye

in the wavelengt range of

380 to 780 nanometers.

Information and Communication

Technologies (ICT)

Fiber optical communication

• Propagation in an extra pure silica glass:

2% loss per km!

• Gigantic capacity Pbit/s (billion mobile data)

over 50 km

(NEC, Corning, 2012)

An optical fibre forces the light to propagate in a

8 mm channel w/o lateral spreading…

Optical Storage Media – Shorter Wavelengths

Wavelengths has a great

influence on the performance

of optical systems.

Shorter wavelengths can

produce smaller focus

diameters making greater

recording densities possible

on optical storage media.

Clean Tech

Concentrated Solar Cells

6

• 300-400 x concentration

(with mirrors and Fresnel lenses)

• Expensive solar cells, but more efficient

(up to 40%) and less numerous.

• Requires a continuous alignement

(tracking)

• Typical powers ~ MW

Manufacturing Industry & Applications

EXEGER has built the world’s largest factory

for production of third generation solar cells.

The EXEGER solar cell technology is based on the dye-sensitized

solar cell originally invented in 1988. Since then, EXEGER has

developed new proprietary materials to improve overall

performance of the cell. These new materials allow for a much

lower sheet resistance, up to 1000 times better than commercially

available materials.

This is key for printing large homogenous areas, one of

EXEGER’s key advantages.

EXEGER has developed the prototype pictured here through

seamless integration of the world’s best indoor solar cell. The

product has eternal life in standard indoor illumination alone.

Intelligent Lighting Systems

“Every light should be intelligent in order to drive radical energy efficiency and provide a platform for distributed building intelligence!”

Digital Lumens kombinerar olika tekniker till ett intelligent

system som kan minska energianvändningen för belysning i

stora lokaler med upp till 90%.

Light On and In the Car

Intelligent LED lights, camera-based assistancence

systems, and information displays ensure a greater

security in all driving situations. During 2014 over

90 million cars, trucks and busses were manufactured

worldwide.
