Light DimensionsStarting point and research.

By brief i was asked to ‘research, develop & design’ a ‘light work’, inspired by, or perfected for, my recently revealed dimension.

I start with mindmap and what light is.

Light is everywhere, and if there is no light, we will never see all the colors and stuff at all.

I research light in nature, animals, explosions, space, lamps, torches and other dimensions such a waves, rays, North light.

Also i start reading a book ‘Design for a real world’ by V. Papanek.

I experiment with a camera, different sources of light, deconstruct my lamp to create a new one, make a lighting water.

In Moscow undeground i saw a lot of examples of good and bad lighting, further i use this knowledge in my work.

Light DimensionsThe outcome.

A Grater Lamp is a simple fun and cheap way to make a source of light. I bought a grater from fix price shop.

Then i did photos and i pretty happy with a result, even later i knew that i’m not the first who come to this idea. Even better, it shows that it really simple, and using Papanik ideas i wanted to use cheap materials to help people who are not rich enough to buy lamp for a price of laptop.
