Life's Brief Candle

“Life is no brief candle to me. It is a sort of splendid torch which I

have got a hold of for the moment, and I want to make it

burn as brightly as possible before handing it on to future

generations.” - George Bernard Shaw

Do you feel motivated in life? Do you look forward to going to work on a Monday; or do

you thank your lucky stars and look forward to the weekend

when Friday arrives?

Page 4: Lifes brief candle

It may seem no surprise to you that most people fall in the latter

category. They hate their life. They feel unsatisfied and

unfulfilled, but still stick to their dead end jobs, just because it

gives them a false sense of security.

Page 5: Lifes brief candle

But what they do not realise is that it is a total waste of time and life!

When Life Beckons.

Page 7: Lifes brief candle

Life, as George Bernard Shaw puts it, should not be lived as if

it's a “brief candle” but a splendid torch that you have

gotten a hold of.

Page 8: Lifes brief candle

Shaw’s view is inspiring indeed, as you feel the very purpose of being alive when you really understand the

meaning behind his words.

Page 9: Lifes brief candle

When you consider life to be a splendid torch that you have been entrusted upon with the responsibility of bearing, to

pass on to the next generation, you will know that you are here

to fulfil a specific purpose.

Page 10: Lifes brief candle

It is a must for every human being to realise his or her purpose in life. You weren't sent here on earth aimlessly.

You have been sent here with a specific reason and you should aim to

fulfill it.

Page 11: Lifes brief candle

Don’t waste time and energy wallowing in self pity,

complaining about the various problems you face in your

everyday life. That is but a part of life itself; obstacles come and go,

but no hurdle should be big enough for you if you are a truly

passionate human being, who has an undying “can do” attitude.

Page 12: Lifes brief candle

Fulfill Your True Purpose.

Page 13: Lifes brief candle

It is not necessary to be a great leader or the head honcho of a

company to consider yourself as mighty and powerful. As Martin Luther King Jr. once said, “If a

man is called to be a street sweeper, he should sweep streets even as Michelangelo painted, or Beethoven composed music...”

Page 14: Lifes brief candle

The key is to be true to your trade. Whatever job you find yourself in, do it to the best of your ability, to

the point that you aim for no one to be better than you. However small or big the task is, you must put in

your best foot forward and complete the task with enthusiasm and

passion.

Page 15: Lifes brief candle

If you feel that you are stuck in a job, and are not able to perform because it is just not your cup

of tea, it is time to quit. And the time is now!

Page 16: Lifes brief candle

People may call you foolish for quitting without a “back up plan,” but you have to trust yourself. If you really feel that your passion lies elsewhere and that is what

you have been cut out for, do not waste your time elsewhere.

Page 17: Lifes brief candle

Take the first step and make the move. Once you do what you love,

it will not seem like a task anymore!

Page 18: Lifes brief candle

In order to live life to the fullest, you must dig deep within and ask yourself what is your one

true passion. Muster up all the courage that you have and step out of the safety net. There's a

saying that the moment you step out of your “comfort zone,” life

in its true sense has begun.

Page 19: Lifes brief candle

What’s more is that you will be an inspiration to many. When you take risks, with the intention of

doing good to yourself and to the people around you, the rewards

are bountiful. You may face challenges along the way, but it

will be all worth it.

Page 20: Lifes brief candle

The going will get tough at times, but it will make you a stronger and

a better person. You will then realise that you are fulfilling your

true purpose and will be thoroughly worn out, before being

thrown out as scrap!
