few words on aXem

• Over 30 years of PLM experience, in BIG Company and since few years as an independent Consultant.

• From CAD / CAM / PDM (SW and Hardware) to PLM and System Engineering

• Main experiences with A&D, Automotive and AEC

Software Engineering is a core discipline

“To achieve its goals, BMW is going to ramp up hiring so that

half of its research and development team is made up of

software engineers.”

Harald Kruger – BMW CEO –

March 2016 – Geneva Motor Show

“Electronic and software content of vehicles will increase from

30% to 70% of the automotive product cost in the next few

years”

“More than 140 000 data points to help make flying more

efficient in real time”.

“In the cockpit and beyond, Boeing / Microsoft paring further

cements the commitment of both companies toward the rapidly

growing digital aviation ecosystem.”

“80% of the future innovation will come from SW content”

« One challenge that isn’t necessarily purelymaintenance-based is the use of data. With Virgin Atlantic now operating new-generation aircraft such as the Boeing787, and from 2019 the Airbus A350, thevolume of Data those aircraft give to anairline engineering team raises thequestion of how it can be used to thebest effect. It’s about picking throughthe huge volumes of data and using it ina truly value-added way in terms ofoperational or safety considerations. »

Few thoughts

• MBE is a journey, not a one shot

• MBE is a continuous improvement

• e2e Digital continuity requires an MBE approach

• MBE needs Standards

• Avoid to not consider “details” …

27

Page 28: Lifecycle Model Based Enterprise - PDT Europe

Dont’ ask what you can do for your DATA …

… ask what your DATA can do for you!
