SAVE A CHILD’S LIFE WITH EMERGENCY/INTENSIVE CARE ESSENTIALS To aend to young paents in an emergency situaon, the appropriate equipment is imperave. Cardiac paent monitors let us monitor a wide range of vital signs of the paent throughout any procedure, whilst a sucon pump and laryngoscope are needed to clear the airways and to open up the paents airways. These key equipment would commonly be used in the case of serious pneumonia – the most common cause of death in children under one year. A SAFE OPERATING THEATRE Surgeries carried out in our operang theatre need to be accurate and precise to minimize any risk of infecon and to ensure the speedy recovery of the paent. We require a cautery machine to stop bleeding aſter surgical incision and a hot air oven to properly sterilize equipment and reduce the risk of infecon. DENTAL CLINIC To keep our young paents calm and safe during their visits to the denst, we need a new dental chair with medical sucon aachment. Our current chairs are very old and not in good condion. RADIOLOGY REFURBISHMENT AHC’s radiology unit is in desperate need of an overhaul to bring it up to internaonal standard. Our radiology unit needs a reliable IT system installed, along with new higher resoluon screens, so that radiologists and doctors can access and print images on demand, no maer where they are in the hospital. Phototherapy Unit = $2,000 Hot Air Oven + Cautery Machine = $5,300 Dental Chair and Medical Sucon = $5,500 Refurbishment of enre radiology unit = $100,000 Cardiac Paent Monitor + Sucon Pump + laryngoscope = $24,000 A hospital needs modern, funconing medical equipment to save lives. AHC, like any hospital, needs top quality equipment – oſten expensive, but, undoubtedly, essenal. Some of our equipment, especially in our emergency department, intensive care and inpaents, have seen their use-by date and must urgently be replaced.
