Have they not looked at the heaven abovethem, how We have made it and adorned it,and there are no rifts in it? And the earth! We have spread it out, and set thereon
mountains standing firm, and have producedtherein every kind of lovely growth (plants). An insight and a Reminder for every slave who turns to Allâh in repentance (i.e. theone who believes in the Oneness of Allâhand performs deeds of His obedience, and
And those who invoke not any otherilâh (god)along with Allâh, nor kill such person as Allâh hasforbidden, except for just cause, nor commit illegal
sexual intercourse - and whoever does this shall
receive the punishment. The torment will bedoubled to him on the Day of Resurrection, and he will abide therein in disgrace; Except those who
repent and believe (in Islâmic Monotheism), and dorighteous deeds; for those, Allâh will change theirsins into good deeds, and Allâh is Oft-Forgiving,Most Merciful. And whosoever repents and does
righteous good deeds; then verily, he repentstowards Allâh with true repentance.[25:68-71]
Have not those who disbelieve known thatthe heavens and the earth were joined
together as one united piece, then We partedthem? And We have made from water every
living thing. Will they not then believe? And We have placed on the earth firm mountains,lest it should shake with them, and We
placed therein broad highways for them topass through, that they may be guided. And We have made the heaven a roof, safe and well guarded. Yet they turn away from itssigns (i.e. sun, moon, winds, clouds, etc.).
When the heaven is cleft asunder. And when the stars have fallen and scattered. And when the seas are burst forth. And when the graves are turned upside down
(and bring out their contents) (Then) aperson will know what he has sent
forward and (what he has) left behind(of good or bad deeds).[82:1-5]
Have you not seen those who have beengiven a portion of the Scripture? They arebeing invited to the Book of Allâh to settle
their dispute, then a party of them turn
away, and they are averse. This is because they say: "The Fire shall nottouch us but for a number of days." Andthat which they used to invent regarding their religion has deceived them.[3:23-24]
Is it a wonder for mankind that We have sentOur Revelation to a man from among
themselves (i.e. Prophet Muhammad pbuh)(saying): "Warn mankind (of the coming torment in Hell), and give good news to
those who believe (in the Oneness of Allâhand in His Prophet Muhammad pbuh) thatthey shall have with their Lord the rewardsof their good deeds?" (But) the disbelieverssay: "This is indeed an evident sorcerer (i.e.Prophet Muhammad pbuh and the Qur’ân)!Surely, your Lord is Allâh Who created theheavens and the earth in six Days and then
rose over the Throne (really in a manner thatsuits His Majesty), disposing the affair of allthings. No intercessor (can plead with Him)except after His Leave. That is Allâh, yourLord; so worship Him (Alone). Then, will
Say (O Muhammad PBUH) "Who provides for youfrom the sky and the earth? Or who owns hearing and sight? And who brings out the living from thedead and brings out the dead from the living? And
who disposes the affairs?" They will Say: "Will younot then be afraid of Allâh’s punishment(for setting up rivals in worship with Allâh)?" Suchis Allâh, your Lord in truth. So after the truth, what
else can there be, save error? How then are youturned away?[10:31-32]
"Those whose lives the angels take while they are doing wrong to themselves (by disbelief andby associating partners in worship with Allâhand by committing all kinds of crimes and evil
deeds)." Then, they will make (false) submission(saying): "We used not to do any evil." (Theangels will reply): "Yes! Truly, Allâh is All-
Knower of what you used to do. "So enter thegates of Hell, to abide therein, and indeed, what
an evil abode will be for the arrogant." And(when) it is said to those who are
the Muttaqûn (the pious) "What is it that yourLord has sent down?" They say: "That which isgood." For those who do good in this world,there is good, and the home of the Hereafter
will be better. And excellent indeed will be thehome (i.e. Paradise) of the Muttaqûn (the pious).‘Adn (Eden) Paradise (Gardens of Eternity)
which they will enter, under which rivers flow,they will have therein all that they wish. Thus
Verily, Allâh enjoins Al-‘Adl (i.e. justice and worshipping none but Allâh Alone) and
Al-Ihsân [i.e. to be patient in performing your dutiesto Allâh, totally for Allâh’s sake and in accordance
with theSunnah (legal ways) of the Prophet pbuh ina perfect manner], and giving (help) to kith andkin and forbids Al-Fahshâ’ (i.e. all evil deeds, e.g.illegal sexual acts, disobedience of parents,polytheism, to tell lies, to give false witness, to
kill a life without right), and Al-Munkar (all that is prohibited by Islâmic law: polytheism of every kind, disbelief and every kind of evil deeds),
and Al-Baghy (i.e. all kinds of oppression). Headmonishes you, that you may take heed.[16:90]
Those who remember Allâh (always, and inprayers) standing, sitting, and lying down on
their sides, and think deeply about thecreation of the heavens and the earth,
(saying): "Our Lord! You have not created
(all) this without purpose, glory to You!(Exalted are You above all that they associate with You as partners). Give us salvationfrom the torment of the Fire.[3:191]
And has there come to you the story of Mûsâ(Moses)? When he saw a fire, he said to his family:"Wait! Verily, I have seen a fire; perhaps I can bring you some burning brand there from, or find some
guidance at the fire." And when he came to it (the fire), he was called by
name: "O Mûsâ (Moses)!
"Verily I am your Lord! So take off your shoes; youare in the sacred valley,Tuwa . "And I have chosenyou. So listen to that which will be revealed
(to you). "Verily! I am Allâh!Lâ ilâha illa Ana (none has the right to be worshipped but I),
so worship Me, and perform As-Salât ( Iqâmat-as- Salât ) for My Remembrance.[20:9-14]
The believers, men and women,are Auliyâ’ (helpers, supporters, friends, protectors)
of one another; they enjoin Al-Ma‘rûf (i.e. Islâmic Monotheism and all that Islâm orders
one to do), and forbid (people) from Al-Munkar (i.e. polytheism and disbelief of allkinds, and all that Islâm has forbidden); they per-
form As-Salât ( Iqâmat-as-Salât ), and give theZakât ,and obey Allâh and His Messenger. Allâh will haveHis Mercy on them. Surely Allâh is All-Mighty, All-
And We have enjoined on man to be dutiful andkind to his parents. His mother bears him with
hardship. And she brings him forth with hardship,and the bearing of him, and the weaning of him isthirty months, till when he attains full strength and
reaches forty years, he says:
"My Lord! Grant me the power and ability that Imay be grateful for Your Favor which You havebestowed upon me and upon my parents, and that Imay do righteous good deeds, such as please You,and make my offspring good. Truly, I have turnedto You in repentance, and truly, I am one of the

(Mary)! Remember My Favor to you and to yourmother when I supported you withRûh-ul-
Qudus [Jibrîl (Gabriel)] so that you spoke to thepeople in the cradle and in maturity; and when I
taught you writing, Al-Hikmah (the power of understanding), the Taurât (Torah) and the
Injeel (Gospel); and when you made out of theclay a figure like that of a bird, by My Permis-sion, and you breathed into it, and it became abird by My Permission, and you healed thoseborn blind, and the lepers by My Permission,and when you brought forth the dead by My
Permission; and when I restrained the Childrenof Israel from you (when they resolved to killyou) as you came unto them with clear proofs,and the disbelievers among them said: ‘This is
And those who, when they havecommittedFâhishah (illegal sexual intercourse) or
wronged themselves with evil, remember Allâh andask forgiveness for their sins; - and none can
forgive sins but Allâh - and do not persist in what(wrong) they have done, while they know. For such,
the reward is Forgiveness from their Lord, andGardens with rivers flowing underneath (Paradise), wherein they shall abide forever. How excellent isthis reward for the doers (who do righteous deeds
And has the news of the litigants reached you? When they climbed over the wall into
(his) Mihrâb (a praying place or a private room); When they entered in upon Dâwûd (David), he was terrified of them. They said: "Fear not! (Weare) two litigants, one of whom has wronged the
other, therefore judge between us with truth,and treat us not with injustice, and guide us tothe Right Way. Verily, this my brother (in relig-ion) has ninety-nine ewes, while I have (only)
one ewe, and he says: "Hand it over to me, andhe overpowered me in speech." (David) said
(immediately without listening to the opponent):"He has wronged you in demanding your ewe inaddition to his ewes. And, verily, many partnersoppress one another, except those who believeand do righteous good deeds, and they are few." And Dâwûd (David) guessed that We have triedhim and he sought Forgiveness of his Lord, andhe fell down prostrate and turned (to Allâh) in
One with whom was knowledge of theScripture said: "I will bring it to you within
the twinkling of an eye!" Then when he[Sulaimân (Solomon)] saw it placed beforehim, he said: "This is by the Grace of my Lord - to test me whether I am grateful or
ungrateful! And whoever is grateful, truly, hisgratitude is for (the good of) his own self;and whoever is ungrateful, (he is ungrateful
only for the loss of his own self).Certainly my Lord is Rich (Free of all
Is not He (better than your gods) Who created theheavens and the earth, and sends down for you water (rain)from the sky, whereby We cause to grow wonderful gardensfull of beauty and delight? It is not in your ability to causethe growth of their trees. Is there any ilâh (god) with Allâh?
Nay, but they are a people who ascribe equals (to Him)!Is not He (better than your gods) Who has made the
earth as a fixed abode, and has placed rivers in its midst, andhas placed firm mountains therein, and has set a barrierbetween the two seas (of salt and sweet water)? Is there
any ilâh (god) with Allâh? Nay, but most of them know not!Is not He (better than your gods) Who responds to the
distressed one, when he calls on Him, and Who removes theevil, and makes you inheritors of the earth, generations aftergenerations? Is there any ilâh (god) with Allâh? Little is that
you remember!
Is not He (better than your gods) Who guides you in thedarkness of the land and the sea, and Who sends the windsas heralds of glad tidings, going before His Mercy (rain)? Is
there any ilâh (god) with Allâh? High Exalted be Allâh aboveall that they associate as partners (to Him)!Is not He (better than your so-called gods) Who
originates creation, and shall thereafter repeat it, and Whoprovides for you from heaven and earth? Is there
any ilâh (god) with Allâh? Say: "Bring forth your proofs, if you are truthful." [27:60-64]
O you who believe! Whoever from among you turns back from his religion (Islâm),
Allâh will bring a people whom He will loveand they will love Him; humble towards the
believers, stern towards the disbelievers,fighting in the Way of Allâh, and never fearof the blame of the blamers. That is theGrace of Allâh which He bestows on whomHe wills. And Allâh is All-Sufficient for His
And I (Allâh) created not the jinn and man-kind except that they should worship Me.I seek not any provision from them (i.e.
provision for themselves or for My creatures) nor do I ask that they should feedMe (i.e. feed themselves or My creatures). Verily, Allâh is the All-Provider, Owner of
‘And of us some are Muslims (who have submittedto Allâh, after listening to this Qur’ân), and of ussome are Al-Qâsitûn (disbelievers - those who havedeviated from the Right Path)’. And whosoeverhas embraced Islâm (i.e. has become a Muslim by submitting to Allâh), then such have sought theRight Path." And as for the Qâsitûn (disbelievers
who deviated from the Right Path), they shall befirewood for Hell,
If they (non-Muslims) had believed in Allâh, and went on the Right Way (i.e. Islâm) We would surely have bestowed on them water (rain) in abundance.

He knows what is in the heavens and what is in theearth. And Allâh is Able to do all things." On theDay when every person will be confronted with allthe good he has done, and all the evil he has done,
he will wish that there were a great distancebetween him and his evil. And Allâh warns you
against Himself (His punishment) and Allâh is fullof kindness to (His) slaves.[3:29-30]
O you who believe! If you obey and fear Allâh, He will grant youFurqân [(a criterion
to judge between right and wrong), or( Makhraj , i.e. a way for you to get out fromevery difficulty)], and will expiate for youyour sins, and forgive you; and Allâh is the
And when it is said to them: "Come to what Allâhhas revealed and unto the Messenger (Muhammadpbuh) for the verdict of that which you have madeunlawful." They say: "Enough for us is that which
we found our fathers following," even though theirfathers had no knowledge whatsoever nor
guidance. O you who believe! Take care of yourown selves. If you follow the (right) guidance [andenjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong no
hurt can come to you from those who are in error. The return of you all is to Allâh, then He will
inform you about (all) that which you used to do.[5:104-105]
