INTRODUCTION

Priests are one of the many people in the realm of religion.

Priests did things like … collecting church taxes called tithing , gave sacrament to the poor & were sometimes the only ones that could read and write!

Do you know what the most powerful religion is? Do you know the landmarks? Do you know the powers they held?

The most powerful is religion “Christianity”

The landmark I thought was best was the “War Of The Cross” I thought that because it was a war to rid the land of Jerusalem from unbelievers like they went against Muslims because they were unbelievers.

The powers the church held were powers over peasants like:

-Collecting taxes

-Telling them to be good

-Collecting tithes

Do you know where the powers of the church came from ? Do you know where the head of the church is located ? Do you know how they help the common man ?

The powers of the church came from the ignorance of people.

The head of the roman church was located in Rome.

The church helps the common man by giving something to belive in.

Do you know if the church treated the peasants and royalty the same ?

Do you know if the church was corrupt ?

Do you know what the jobs of Monasteries & Convents?

The church saw everybody equally like god does.

The church was corrupt because it controlled society and government.

Monasteries and Convents ruled society

Do you know St.Benedict ? Do you know the role of monks and nuns ? Do you know where monks live ?

St. Benedict was a roman noble and the founder of Christian monastic communities.

The roles of monks and nuns were to help and teach students.

Monks live usually in Monasteries.

Do you know what a monks life is like ? Do you know how they dress or if there are any symbols?

A monks life is based on 3 vows

-vow of poverty

-vow of chastity

-vow of obedience

Monks dress usually in a earth tone robe with a mainly brown rope belt.

The only symbol I know is

White=show commitment to rules
