  • What are Micro Expressions?

  • Even when someone is trying to lie about their feelings, parts of their face will show their true feelings towards the object, just before they make their fake face

    These are called Micro expressions

Micro Expressions are generally grouped into seven universal emotions:anger, disgust, fear, sadness, happiness, surprise, and contempt.

  • 7 Universal Emotions

  • How to Detect Lies ?

  • Method 1: Detecting Lies in the Face and EyesThe eyebrows being drawn upwards towards the middle of the forehead, causing short lines to appear across the skin of the forehead.

  • Methods 2: Look for nose touching and mouth covering

This is perhaps due to a rush of adrenaline to the capillaries in the nose, causing the nose to itch.

A lying person is more likely to cover his or her mouth with a hand or to place the hands near the mouth, almost as if to cover the lies coming forth.

  • Method 3: Watch out for fidgetingFidgeting results from nervous energy produced by a fear of being found out.

  • Methods 4: Check for sweatingPeople tend to sweat more when they lie.

Measuring sweat is one of the ways that the polygraph test (the "lie detector" in all the movies) determines a lie

  • Method 5: Check how is the person smilingA smile can sometimes mask a persons true feelings.

A true smile will incorporate both a persons lips and eyes, but people who lie force a smile.

  • Fake Smile vs Real Smile

  • 10 Steps to Spot Lying

  • 1. Try to see if their voice is strained, in a lower or higher pitch than normal, or just sounds plain weird for some reason.

  • 2. There is a myth that liars don't like to make eye contact.Skilled liars have no problem making eye contact.

  • 3. Do they take long to respond?

  • 4. Liars often make little movement with their body.

  • 5. Expressions on that persons face will often be limited to their mouth instead of the whole face

  • 6. Sentences with contractions are more likely to be truthful.

  • 7. Is their body shaking?

  • 8. Learn from the past

  • 9. Liars will often want to get out of the subject as fast as possible.

  • 10. To spot a liar just keep asking them questions.

  • Chandra: How to spot crying lie?Adel: Is it possible to cover our lie after we know the method to detect lie?Julianto:

*Vocal quality is the least reliable indicator of deception. It is far too subjective for it to be a reliable indicator of deception.*The deceptive person is more likely to parrot the full question, not just part of it. Repeating the full question buys the liar a few extra moments to prepare a story and compose himself before delivering it.*False. Perhaps the biggest myth about liars is that they avoid direct eye contact. The reality is that many liars engage in even more eye contact than the average person, because they know it will help them sell their story.*
