Education Exemption for VideosQuick Explanation

• The teacher or instructor is present

• The movie is used as an essential part of the core, current curriculum being taught

• Not used for entertainment or reward

• It is a legal copy-not taped from a legitimate copy or from a premium cable network (HBO, Disney, etc.)

Off-Air Taping of Programs

• ONLY APPLIES TO BROADCASTS TO GENERAL PUBLIC-NOT CABLE

• 10 Day Rule

• Evaluation Only after 10 Days

• Destroyed no later than 45 Days after taping

Playing Your Video

• Use a TV/DVD/VCR combo Cart

• Played from the Smart System in the Media Center (See Mrs. Vice)

• Permission Form on File Required for Rented, Purchased, or Home-Recorded prior to showing signed by Grade Level Chair

NOTE: DVDs will always be shown on Channel 20. VHS channels will vary.
