LIBERTY COUNTY BOARD OF EDUCATION The Liberty County Board of Education met for a Board Work Session Meeting on Tuesday, February 27, 2018, at 9:00 a.m. with the following members in attendance: Lily H. Baker, Chair Carol Guyett Marcia Anderson Verdell Jones, Vice Chair Carolyn Smith-Carter Dr. Yvette Keel Marcus Scott IV Dr. Franklin Perry, Interim Superintendent Call to Order. Mrs. Lily Baker called the meeting to order. Pledge to Flag and Moment of Silence. The Board and the audience recited the Pledge of Allegiance to the American flag and paused for a brief moment of silence. Inspiration. The inspiration was a video showcasing the Black History celebrations and activities at our schools. Certificate of Compliance. Dr. Franklin Perry certified that we complied with the Georgia Open Meetings Act. Approval of Agenda. On recommendation by Dr. Franklin Perry, the Board voted to approve the agenda on motion by Mrs. Carol Guyett and seconded by Mrs. Verdell Jones; the Board approved the agenda with a unanimous vote. Approval of Minutes. On recommendation by Dr. Franklin Perry, on motion by Mrs. Verdell Jones, and seconded by Mrs. Carol Guyett, the Board approved the minutes of the Board Meeting held on February 13, 2018 as presented with a unanimous vote. Action Item Out of State Travel Background Information : The following travel is requested - LCHS Boys and Girls Track Beaufort, S.C. Sand Shark Invitational Recommendation : Approve the requests as presented. Fiscal Impact : None – Funded from school activity account Funding Source : School Activity Account On motion by Mrs. Marcia Anderson and seconded by Mrs. Carol Guyett, the Board voted to approve the out of state travel with a unanimous vote.

Nutrition account. Please note these reports currently do not convey the true financial position of the
District. Staff is currently working on calculating fund balance amounts as well as the amounts for
various draw downs from account to account.
