Lekir Bulk Terminal (Lumut Port)Historical DetailsConsequent to the in-principle indicative approval of the State Government of Perak of the Lekir Coastal Development Project ("Lekir Coastal Project") in 1996, two companies were formed by three partners to promote, develop and implement the Lekir Coastal Project, which comprised two related developments:Desa Kilat Sdn. Bhd.(DKSB)The promotion and development of the Lekir Coastal Project comprising the reclamation of land from the sea in the form of islands and the sale of these islands. Total area available for reclamation was 20,000 acres.Lekir Bulk Terminal Sdn. Bhd.(LBT)

LBT executed a Jetty Terminal Usage Agreement with TNB Janamanjung Sdn. Bhd. in August 1999 for the provision of coal unloading and delivery services to the Power Station, thus securing an anchor customer. LBT commenced the construction of Phase I of the dry bulk terminal in May 2000, comprising berths able to accommodate Capemax and Panamax vessels with water depths alongside of 20m ACD, a 2,000m trestle, 2 grab discharge cranes, mechanised handling equipment and controls and appropriate onshore support facilities.

Maintenance details1) Daily substation inspection ES1 and ES2 (11kV)Purpose : To ensure the substation is in good conditionTo take the readings of the feeder supply from TNBJ To rectify any faults in the substation2) Inspection on Shipunloader Transformer Temperature.Purpose : To ensure the transformer temperature maintains within 40 50 degree celcius.

2) Weekly fire Pump house Inspection

Purpose : To ensure the running condition of the jockey Pump, standby Pump and Fire duty pump in the pump house is on good conditionTo test run the 3 pumps to maintain its working condition and to rectify any faults or failure within the system.

3) Weekly gen set inspection Purpose :To test run on gen set to ensure the gen set is in good condition and the running condition is satisfactory.Type of gen set1) samsoon feeder gen set2) Electrical substation 1 and 2 Gen set3) shipunloader 1 gen set

4) Weekly waste water treatment inspectionPurpose :To ensure the system in WWTP is in good conditionTo ensure any faults and parts failure to be rectified immediately

Info Primary sedimentation pondFunction : first stage of treatment and will transfers water into the primary pond.

Secondary sedimentation pondFunction : second stage of water treatment and transfers in to clarified pond.

5) Wire rope broomingPurpose : To prepare the wire rope for Grab

6) Dismantle Gear Box 3 at Trestle Conveyor

Purpose : The input shaft has bent due to that the gear box starts shaking thus causing leakage of oil and damaged the pinion shaft.
