..There.has.been.a.lot.of.vandalism.and.theft.this.summer...Pool.tables.are.being.broken;.since.they.are.plexiglass,.whoever.is.doing.it.is.really.working.at.it...This.is.your.furniture,.your.amenity.center.and.your.neighborhood...Please.report.to.the.Round.Rock.Police.Department.if.you.see.this.kind.of.activity.going.on...The.amenity.center.closes.at.10:00.PM.–.please.leave.then...If.you.are.there.after.that.time,.motion.sensors.will.contact.our.security.company.and.our.security.guy.will.be.dispatched...The.board.is.working.to.increase.security.at.the.amenity.center.so.it.is.just.a.matter.of.time.before.charges.are.filed.when.there.is.vandalism...Additionally,.there.is.a.curfew.in.Round.Rock.and.we.have.increased.police.patrols..

I.see.trash.in.the.gutters.that.indicate.that.we.have.teens.out.during.the.night.consuming.beer...If.you.see.empty.beer.packages,.etc,.please.be.a.committee.of.one.to.pick.it.up...Our.landscapers.clean.up.trash.when.they.mow,.but.our.vandals.are.staying.ahead.of.them,.which.makes.Wood.Glen.look.bad..If.you.have.children,.you.may.have.a.golden.opportunity. to.give.a. lesson.about.personal. responsibility.and.serve.the.neighborhood.at.the.same.time!.

.Some.seem.to.think.that.the.volunteers.who.comprise.the.board.of.directors.and.various.committees.should.be.out.there.picking.up.thrash.and.that.paying.assessments.somehow.give.property.owners.the.right.to.demand.that...Assessments.are.spent.to.pay.the.bills.of.the. community. including. taxes,. insurance,.maintenance,. and. for.projects.to.improve.Wood.Glen...Paying.assessments.is.every.property.owner’s.responsibility.and.all.of.our.volunteers.pay.their.assessments.AND.serve.the.neighborhood..

I.am.sad.to.have.to.write.about.problems,.but.please.remember.that.the.problems.are.not.solved.by.discussions.with.other.neighbors,.but.by.addressing.the.issues.directly.with.the.offending.party.OR.by.reporting.to.the.appropriate.authorities...Problems.are.just.things.to.be.solved!

Also,. for. safety.and.to.keep. the.pool. reasonably.clean.between.servicing,.please.keep.the.gate.closed.at.all.times..Kiddos.going.back.and.forth.between.pool.and.play.area.are.tracking.extra.dirt. into.the.pool...Putting.all.trash.in.the.trash.cans.helps.cut.down.on.the.“critter”.crud.that.can.get.into.the.pool.as.well...Pets.are.not.welcome.there.for.the.same.reason.

Please.report.any.unauthorized.vehicular.traffic.in.the.green.belt.

The. clearing. of. “cedar”. (it. really. is. Ashe. juniper).underbrush.in.our.Wood.Glen.greenbelt.was.explained.as.an.effort.to.improve.health.of.the.major.trees,.oaks.and.pecans,. by. doing. away. with. the. water-robbing. cedars..This.us.very.valid.and.has.begun.to.demonstrate.benefits.to.the.health.and.appearance.of.our.greenbelt..There.is,.however,.another.equally.important.reason.to.clear.cedar.underbrush.–.fire.danger!.You.will.remember.the.drought.of.last.year.and.how.dry.the.grass.in.the.greenbelt.got..Grass.fires.occurred.all.over.Texas...Usually.these.are.fast-moving.and.do.little.permanent.damage.–.unless.they.get.into.tree.canopy.and.become.a.forest.fire..To.jump.to.the.canopy.from.the.grass.the.fire.needs.a.“ladder”.–.which.is.just.what.the.flammable.cedars.provide.as.undergrowth..You.can.see.then.that.culling.this.underbrush.is.a.major.safety.factor.in.preventing.a.forest.fire.in.our.greenbelt.which.could.have.catastrophic.effect.on.our.homes.
