Legacy at Cranberry Landing 300 Cranberry Landing Drive Rochester, NY 14609 We've got lot's of new Watermark University classes coming up so be on the lookout! We'll have the opportunity to learn about the History of Marvel with James, join Chayton in Whiskey Club, learn about the Evolution of Animation with Jon, Explore the ancient art of Chinese Blue and White Ceramics with Alicia and learn all about the many benefits of honey with Gianna. You won't want to miss it! What a blast! In Melissa's Watermark University class "Let's Make Ice Cream" everyone had such a great time! We had to fill the ice cream ball with ice, rock salt, half & half and strawberry flavoring first. Then each table then had to roll, spin, stir, toss, flip, and shake the ball around for 10 minutes before stirring. Then we were back at it again for another 10 minutes. Once we were done the savory strawberry ice cream was ours to indulge in all of our hard efforts and boy was it delicious! Everyone enjoyed this so much that it's been requested we do it at least once a month! Who knew hard work could also be so fun and so yummy? They can provide energy in the middle of the day or when you exercise. A healthy snack between meals can also decrease your hunger and keep you from overeating at meal time. A good-for-you snack is one that's high in nutritional value (protein, vitamins, minerals, fiber) but relatively low in calories, total fat, saturated fat (no trans fat), sugar, and sodium. We got messy and created our own healthy snacks in Jenn's Watermark University class "Snacking Our Way to Health!" Everyone selected their own ingredients to form the contents into energy balls using things like oats, peanut butter, honey, raisins, coconut flakes and even dark chocolate chips. Being healthy doesn't have to be boring and we can have fun making them too! Join the movement in Snacking Our Way to Health! Let's Get Healthy! What is the role of blood pressure exactly? Great question! As your heart beats, it pumps your blood through your body so that your muscles can get all the energy and oxygen they need. To do this, your heart pushes your blood through a network of blood vessels called arteries. As your heart squeezes and pushes your blood through your arteries, your blood pressure goes up. The higher your blood pressure is, the higher you're at risk of health problems in the future. If your blood pressure is high, it is putting extra strain on your arteries and on your heart. This could cause a heart attack or stroke. Be sure to join Shannon for her Blood Pressure Clinic on Wednesday, February 12th at 11:15am in the Card Room to check your blood pressure and to get tips and tricks for keeping it in the normal range! Path to Well-Being Creating artwork helps benefit coordination through small, purposeful movements, leading to less pain and even an enhanced immune system. Art allows us to focus less on chronic aches and pains and instead concentrate on the creative process at hand. What better way to celebrate the snowy Rochester days than to try something new like watercolor silhouette paintings! With a wide range of choices, everyone got to pick one that fit their own personal taste. Marguerite chose a beautiful horse as well as a rose. These masterpieces were stunning and everyone painted their hearts out. To thrive is to prosper and to flourish. We love to try new things and go on these learning adventures together. You'll never get bored when you try something new. There's no limit to what you can do! Thriving
