“Winship Cancer Institute is about caring in the broadest sense—researchers caring about finding cures, doctors and staff caring about each patient’s needs. Friends of Winship, in that spirit, seeks to help these providers. All of us are joined in the cause to help, and Gayle and I greatly enjoy the warmth and thoughtfulness of every Friends gathering.”

“Friends of Winship members are ambassadors for theWinship
Cancer Institute, the only National Cancer Institute-
designated comprehensive cancer center in Georgia.
Our goal is to help conquer cancer by raising community
awareness, by supporting through fundraising the clinical
research that takes place at Winship, and by offering
support to those individuals and families who are
undergoing treatment here.”

Combining elegance, celebration, and community into an annual signature event, the Friends of Winship Fashion a Cure Fashion Show provides significant funding for research into cancers affecting women. In only five short years, Fashion a Cure has generated more than $850,000 for research at Winship Cancer Institute.
The luncheon features fashions from local boutiques and designers modeled by cancer survivors and their loved ones. A silent auction complements the day’s activities. Winship scholars
whose work benefits from Fashion a Cure have advanced research in basic science, breast cancer treatment and outcomes, multiple myeloma, and lung cancer.
