The free webinar, "Tourniquets and Hemostatic Dressings: The New Evidence-based Guidelines" will provide an opportunity to learn about the new evidence-based guidelines for prehospital hemorrhage and see how they have been implemented in a local EMS system. National experts will discuss the lessons learned from Iraq and Afghanistan and how prehospital tourniquet application is saving the lives of our soldiers overseas. Paramedic Transition Programs for Military Medics

NAEMT and SOMA issued a joint position statement to support thedevelopment and funding of military medic to civilian Paramedictransition programs. Designed to allow active duty and veteran militarymedics to incorporate their military medical training as a significantportion of their civilian Paramedic training, these transition programswill also provide several other benefits. 2014 Wildfire EMS Award Nominations Sought

The National Wildfire Coordinating Group's (NWCG)Incident Emergency Medical Subcommittee (IEMS) hasannounced they are accepting nominations for the 2014Annual Wildfire Emergency Medical Service AwardsProgram. The NWCG Wildfire EMS Awards Programrecognizes and honors individuals and agencies from abroad spectrum demonstrating outstanding work, actions,or programs in EMS for wildland firefighters. The 2014 EMSaward criteria, nomination form and additional informationcan be viewed here.

The August 1 nomination deadline is rapidly approaching for the National EMSAwards of Excellence! August 15 is the deadline for submission of candidacy materials for the NAEMTBoard of Directors Elections!
