Scientific Perfection (1)

This is displayed in statements referring to concepts and facts of science and history, having been unknown or not understood until centuries after the Qur’an was sent down.

The scientific proof of the Qur’anic miracle is manifested in its indications of:

a) The main notions of modern science:

- Scientific laws

- Life cycles

- The creatures being in pairs.

 b) The nature of the cosmos:

- Its limitlessness

- Evolution

- Continuous extension

- Space travel and its hardships

- Time relativity

- The nature of the sun and the moon

Proofs From the Qur’an and Sunnah

 Qur’anic Knowledge

Fundamentals:

The laws of science:

Allah says:

د�ر� ﴿ ب�ق� ن�اه� ل�ق� خ� ء� ي� ش� ك�ل� �ن�ا ﴾إ[49القمر] :

This means:

“Surely We created everything by a determined estimate.”

(Surah Al-Qamar: 49)

Also the verse:

ب�ان� ﴿ س� ب�ح� ر� م� ال�ق� و� م�س� ﴾الش�[5الرحمن] :

This means:

“The sun and the moon run on their fixed courses (exactly) calculated with measured out stages for each (for reckoning, etc.)”

(Surah Ar-Rahman: 5)

And:

ان� ﴿ يز� ال�م� ع� و�و�ض� ا ع�ه� ف� ر� اء� م� ﴾و�الس�[ 7الرحمن] :

This means:

“And the heaven He has raised high, and He has set up the Balance.”

(Surah Ar-Rahman: 7)

Life cycles:

Allah says:

ار� ﴿ الن�ه� ت�ول�ج� و� ار� الن�ه� ف�ي الل�ي�ل� ت�ول�ج�ي-ت� ال�م� م�ن� ال�ح�ي� ر�ج� ت�خ� و� الل�ي�ل� ف�ي

من ق� ز� ت�ر� و� ي- ال�ح� م�ن� ي-ت� ال�م� ر�ج� ت�خ� و�اء� اب� ت�ش� ح�س� ﴾ب�غ�ي�ر�

عمران ] : [ 27آل

This means:

“You bring the living out of the dead, and You bring the dead out of the living. And You give wealth and sustenance to whom You will, without limit (measure or account).”

(Surah Al-`Imran: 27)

Creatures are all in pairs:

Allah says:

ي�ن� ﴿ و�ج� ز� ن�ا ل�ق� خ� ء� ي� ش� ك�ل- و�م�نون� ت�ذ�ك�ر� ﴾ل�ع�ل�ك�م�

[49الذاريات ] :

This means:

“And of everything We have created pairs, that you may remember (the Grace of Allah)”

(Surah Adh-Dhariyat: 49)

And:

ي�ن� ﴿ و�ج� ز� ا يه� ف� ع�ل� ج� ات� ر� الث�م� ك�ل- و�م�ن﴾اث�ن�ي�ن�

]3الرعد] :

This means:

“And of every kind of fruits He made Zawjayn Ithnayn (two in pairs.”

(Surah Ar-Ra`d: 3)

The nature of the universe:The universe is endless:

Allah says:

م� ﴿ يـو� ف�ي �ل�ي�ه� إ وح� Cالر و� ال�م�الئ�ك�ة� ج� ت�ع�ر�ن�ة� س� ل�ف�

أ� ين� م�س� خ� ه� د�ار� ق� م�     ﴾ك�ان�

[4المعارج ] :

This means:

“The angels and the Ruh [Jibrael (Gabriel)] ascend to Him in a Day the measure whereof is fifty thousand years.”

(Surah Al-Ma`arij: 4)

Living creatures of the universe:

Allah says:

ا ﴿ و�م� ض� و�األر� و�ات� م� الس� ل�ق� خ� آي�ات�ه� و�م�ن�ا م� يه� ف� ب�ث�

اء� ي�ش� �ذ�ا إ م� ع�ه� م� ج� ع�ل�ى و� و�ه� د�اب�ة� م�نTد�ير ﴾ق�

[29الشورى] :

This means: “And among His Ayat (proofs, evidences,

lessons, signs, etc.) is the creation of the heavens and the earth, and whatever moving (living) creatures He has dispersed in them both. And He is All-Potent over their assembling (i.e. resurrecting them on the Day of Resurrection after their death, and dispersion of their bodies) whenever He will.”

(Surah Ash-Shura: 29)

The development of the universe:

Allah says:

و�ات� ﴿ م� الس� ن�أ� وا ك�فر� ال�ذي�ن� ي�ر� ل�م� و�

أ�ض� ر�و�األ�

... ا م� ن�اه� ت�ق� ف� ف� ا Xت�ق ر�       ﴾ ك�ان�ت�ا

: [ 30األنبياء]

This means:

“Have not those who disbelieve known that the heavens and the earth were joined together as one united piece, then We parted them?”

(Surah Al-Anbiya’: 30)

And:

﴿ Tان د�خ� و�ه�ي� اء� م� الس� إ�ل�ى ت�و�ى اس� ث�م�ا Xه ك�ر� و�

أ� ط�و�عXا ائ�ت�ي�ا ض� ر�ل�أل� و� ا ل�ه� ال ق� ف�

ط�ائ�ع�ين� ت�ي�ن�ا� أ ال�ت�ا  ﴾ق�

: [11فصلت]

This means: “Then He levelled Himself towards the

heaven when it was smoke (mixture of gas and solid particles) and said to it and to the earth: "Come both of you willingly or unwillingly." They both said: "We come, willingly."”

(Surah Fussilat: 11)

 Its constant expansion:

Allah says:

ع�ون� ﴿ ل�م�وس� �ن�ا وإ ي�د�� ب�أ ب�ن�ي�ن�اها اء� م� ﴾والس�

[47الذاريات] :

This means:

With power did We construct the heaven. Verily, We are Able to extend the vastness of space thereof.

(Surah Adh-Dhariyat: 47)

Space travel:

Allah says:

ت�ط�ع�ت�م� ﴿ اس� إ�ن� و�اإل�نس� ن- ال�ج� ر� ع�ش� م� ي�او�ات�  م� الس� ق�ط�ار�

أ� م�ن� ذ�وا ت�نف� نأ�

� إ�ال ذ�ون ت�نف� ال� ذ�وا انف� ف� ض� ر�و�األ�

ل�ط�ان� [33الرحمن] : ﴾بس�

This means:

“O assembly of jinns and men! If you have power to pass beyond the zones of the heavens and the earth, then pass (them)! But you will never be able to pass them, except with authority (from Allah)!” (Surah Ar-Rahman: 33)

 And the difficulties are:

Allah says:

﴿ Tاس ن�ح� و� ن�ار� م-ن Tو�اظ ش� ع�ل�ي�ك�م�ا ل� س� ي�ر�ان� ر� ت�نت�ص� ال� [ 35الرحمن] : ﴾ف�

This means:

“There will be sent against you both, smokeless flames of fire and (molten) brass, and you will not be able to defend yourselves.” (Surah Ar-Rahman: 35)

And:

ل�ئ�ت� ﴿ م� ا د�ن�اه� فوج� اء� م� الس� ن�ا ل�م�س� ن�ا� أ و�

بXا ه� و�ش� Xد�يدا ش� Xسا ر� [ 8الجن] : ﴾ح�

This means:

“And we have sought to reach the heaven; but found it filled with stern guards and flaming fires.”

(Surah Al-Jinn: 8)

And:

ه� ﴿ د�ر� ص� ح� ر� ي�ش� د�ي�ه� ي�ه� نأ� الله� ي�ر�د� م�ن ف�

ه� د�ر� ص� ع�ل� ي�ج� ل�ه� ي�ض� نأ� ي�ر�د� و�م�ن الم� ل�إل�س�

ك�ذ�ل�ك� اء� م� الس� ف�ي ع�د� ي�ص� ا ن�م�ك�أ� ا Xج ر� ح� ا Xي-ق ض�

ن�ون� ي�ؤ�م� ال� ال�ذ�ين� ع�ل�ى ج�س� الر- الله� ع�ل� ﴾ي�ج� [125األنعام] :

This means:

“And whomsoever Allah wills to guide, He opens his breast to Islam, and whomsoever He wills to send astray, He makes his breast closed and constricted, as if he is climbing up to the sky. Thus Allah puts the wrath on those who believe not.”

(Surah Al-An`am: 125)

And:

اء� ﴿ م� الس� م-ن� ب�ابXا م ع�ل�ي�ه� ن�ا ت�ح� ف� ل�و� و� * ا �ن�م� إ ال�وا ل�ق� ون� ج� ي�ع�ر� يه� ف� ف�ظ�لCوا

Tم و� ق� ن� ن�ح� ب�ل� ن�ا ار� ب�ص�� أ ت� ك-ر� س�

ون� ور� ح� : ﴾م�س� 14الحجر] 15،]

This means:

“And even if We opened to them a gate from the heaven and they were to continue ascending thereto. They would surely say: "Our eyes have been (as if) dazzled. Nay, we are a people bewitched. "”

(Surah Al-Hijr: 14 - 15)

Relativity of time:

Allah says:

الله� ﴿ ل�ف� ي�خ� ل�ن و� ب�ال�ع�ذ�اب� ل�ون�ك� ت�ع�ج� ي�س� و�   ن�ة� س� ل�ف�

ك�أ� ب-ك� ر� ند� ع� ا Xي�و�م وإ�ن� و�ع�د�ه�ت�ع�دCون ا م� ﴾م-

[47الحج] :

This means:

“And they ask you to hasten on the torment! And Allah fails not His Promise. And verily, a day with your Lord is as a thousand years of what you reckon.”

(Surah Al-Hajj: 47)

The nature of the sun and the moon:

Allah says:

ع�ل� ﴿ و�ج� Xن�ورا ن� يه� ف� ر� م� ال�ق� ع�ل� و�ج�ا Xاج ر� س� م�س� ﴾الش�

[16نوح] :

This means:

“And has made the moon a light therein, and made the sun a lamp?”

(Surah Nuh: 16)
