Lesson 5A.6 Sections 5.6.3 and 5.6.4
Points of Concurrency
Midsegments • Midsegments are line segments created by connecting
the midpoints of two sides of a triangle. X is the midpoint of AB Y is the midpoint of BC
• Every triangle has three midsegments.

Angle Bisector: A line or line segment that divides the angle into two equal parts.
•
Perpendicular Bisector: A line that passes through the midpoint of the side of a triangle at a 90 degree angle.
Altitude: A line or line segment that intersects the side of a triangle at a 90 degree angle
Median: A line or line segment that intersects the side of a triangle from one angle to the midpoint of the opposite side.
Answer #’s 1-6 on your worksheet
Point of Concurrency: The point at which three or more lines intersect
• Let’s identify the point of concurrency for angle bisectors, medians, altitudes and perpendicular bisectors!!!
