What is the Lely Juno feed pusher?

• Pushes the feed as often as you like

• Totally automated

• Based on routings

• Low maintenance and energy use

• Proven success in terms of increased feed intake

Why Juno? From feed to milk

• Cows spend 3 - 5 hours a day eating

• They consume 7 - 10 meals a day

• They ruminate 7 - 10 hours a day

• +/- 20 kg dry matter a day

• Fibre particles remain in the rumen: 20 - 48 hours

Page 8: Lely Juno feed pusher

Why Juno? Feed management

Is all about

• Feed bunk design

• Feed quality

• Feeding frequency

• Feed push-ups

Page 9: Lely Juno feed pusher

• Prevents de-mixing/ selection of the roughage• ‘Motivates’ cows to eat• Constant feed available• Improves cow health since cows do not need to push their

shoulders against the feed fence• Improves feeding table hygiene due to more push ups

Why Juno? Feed push-ups

Why Juno? Results

• Juno CO2 emission: 350 kg• Tractor CO2 emission: 1424 kg

• Juno energy consumption: 500 kWh• Tractor energy consumption: 5475 kWh

• Juno has 4 times lower CO2 emission• Juno has 10 times less energy consumption

Page 15: Lely Juno feed pusher

Why Juno? Results

Example of energy and depreciation• Running costs of a tractor or quad: €10.65 per hour

• € 10.65 x 92.25 hours = € 970 annually

Why Juno? Results

Example of labour savings91.25 hours X € 22.50 an hour = +/- € 2053,- annually

Decreasing availability of labour Average labour cost in Europe

Juno 100 – 150; the differences

Page 19: Lely Juno feed pusher

Juno 100 – 150; the differences The power of Juno 100

• More compact, making it suitable for every barn - perfect for smaller feed alleys - less obstruction

• Attractive price

• Can push the same weight, height and distance as Juno 150 with higher speed

Page 20: Lely Juno feed pusher

Juno 100 – 150; the differences The power of Juno 150

• Excellently suitable for outside use- Drives on open feeding alleys (open

ridges and open feeding alleys on the outside)

- Performs routings between two barns

• Charging and ultrasound sensor possible on both sides

• Needs less space for approaching its charging station

Page 21: Lely Juno feed pusher

Juno 100 – 150; the differences E-link

Juno 150• Inside, underneath the cover

Juno 100• Outside, disconnectable• Storage tray can be mounted

in the barn or in the office

Page 22: Lely Juno feed pusher

Juno 100 – 150; the differences Collision detector

Juno 1001. No electric pulse device in the rubber ring of the collision

detector (different material and software solution)2. Safety bar (child protection) not necessary, because

diameter, type of rubber and space underneath the skirt are different

Page 23: Lely Juno feed pusher

Juno 100 – 150; the differences Product specifications

Juno 100 & 150• Push height: no more than 65 cm• Push width: less than 200 cm• Push weight: approx. 350 kg max.

(depending on feed type)

Page 26: Lely Juno feed pusher

New software; dynamic pushing What is dynamic pushing?

• No pre-determined distance to the feed fence

• Based on the amount of feed/ back pressure

• Merely involves pre-setting the route, minimal distance to the feed fence and filling in the time plan

• Can be set for 4 different feed types: • Extra light• Light• Normal• Heavy

Page 27: Lely Juno feed pusher

New software; dynamic pushing

• Not every feeding place has the same amount of feed• Because of number of cows eating at specific feed place• Because of bringing feed on feed alley by tractor/ mixer wagon

• When you do not have a regular feeding pattern• Because of variety (F.e. day 1 and 2 feeding once every 2 days, day 3

feeding twice a day, day 4 different feeding times every day.)

How do customers rank the Juno in general?

Page 31: Lely Juno feed pusher

Customer satisfaction

Why do farmers recommend the Juno to fellow dairy farmers?

Page 32: Lely Juno feed pusher

Customer satisfaction Customer comments

• With more than 1 cow per feeding place the demand for constant feed availability is high - the Lely Juno feed pusher is the solution.

• Less cows on the attention list owing to improved cow traffic./ Stimulates the cows to come to the feed fence.

• Low-ranking cows benefit from continuous feed availability.

• More tranquility in the barn.

Page 33: Lely Juno feed pusher

Customer satisfaction Customer comments

• No need to open the big doors during the cold winter days for the tractor.

• No heavy or time-consuming work.

• Reliable and gives the farmer even more flexibility.

• The result is a nice, virtually empty feed bunk.
