Bieber), Northampton Community College (Dr. Mark Erickson) and Reading Area Community College (Dr. Anna Weitz). The group was asked to develop a diversity and inclusion plan for the three instuons. Paw Print Student Journalist Appears on PBS Check out the brand-new program on PBS 39, “Reporter’s Roundtable.” It airs every Saturday morning at 10 a.m. and again on Sunday aſternoons at 5 p.m. LCCC’s student journalist and editor of The Paw Print, Natasha Hague, is one of the regulars on the program. Congratulations to the Class of 2018 Commencement ceremonies were held May 17 at the PPL Center in downtown Allentown. The Naonal Anthem was led by graduate Krysta Roberts, while Peggy Heim introduced the speakers. The welcome was from Roberta Marcus, chair of the Board of Trustees, and Dr. Ann Bieber shared remarks for the ceremony. Student speakers Merquiadez “Mickey” Arce and Diana Fleming each addressed the crowd. Dr. Betsy Swope, associate professor of psychology, announced the Student of the Year, Aldaine Alphonse, and All-PA Academic Team members Kara Grosso and Maria Marnez, before all the students’ names were called to receive their diplomas. Meyer, vice president of Academic Services and Student Development, is among a team of 11 people who will travel to Denver this month to support the City of Allentown’s bid to be named an “All-America City.” Meyer will be joined by Luis Bardales Jr., an LCCC alumnus, owner of LBJ Media and nominee for the All-America City youth award. They and nine other team members will aend the 109th Naonal Civic League Conference on Local Governance on June 21 in Denver, Colo. The annual award, presented by the Naonal Civic League, honors 10 U.S. cies for their innovaon, civic engagement and collaboraon among residents, businesses, nonprofits and government leaders. Each of the 20 city finalists will give a 10-minute presentaon to showcase their city’s equitable opportunies, recent successes and future potenal. Allentown’s compeon includes Miami Beach, Fla; Las Vegas; Charloe, N.C., and El Paso, Texas, among others.
