Ian HenryManaging Directortells us about histime on the
coastlineof Cantabria andthe Basque regionof Spain...
The Basque town of San Sebastian has astunning setting around a
beautiful shell-shapedbay and the Tapas bars in the Old Town
arereputed to be the best in Spain. I also enjoyedthe medieval
village of Santillana del Mar inCantabria; its something of a cross
between aPeak District and Cotswold village combinedwith Spanish
traditions oh, and lot of ciderbars selling the local produce!

The Rhine Valley has always been popular but forme there is
still plenty to enjoy and discover. TheHotel Alte Bauernschanke is
a real find, which Idid some thirty years ago, and the Berg
familyhave remained friends throughout that time.Be sure to try the
hotels own wine, grown andproduced locally. I never tire of
visitingAssmannshausen and am sure you will enjoy theRhine as much
as I have over the years.

I would recommend this tour to anyone wholoves the mountains,
great scenic views and somany varied things to see and do. The
railwayup to the Jungfrau was my highlight, withamazing views of
the Eiger, Monch and theJungfrau mountains. The train cuts through
themountain up to the glacier where the views ofwhat feels like the
whole of Switzerland werenothing short of spectacular.

Chateau and Gardens of Versailles werewonderful, we even hired

This is an absolutely stunning tour with a wealthof excursion

makes this tour, is the wonderfulHotel Mary, with its breathtaking

If you love chocolate or beer then youll be inheaven in Bruges!
The quaint cobbled streets inthis old medieval town boast elegant

oldtown squares with a fine Belgian beer watchingthe world go

combined with thegreat group atmosphere of the motor racingfans was
unforgettable!

One of the great things about the Battlefieldtours is that the

stay in my memory for a very, verylong time.

This tour was full of so many contrasting places, its difficult
to choose a favourite: the charmingcobbled streets of Kotor in
Montenegro; thepicturesque harbour at Cavtat; and the beautifultown
of Dubrovnik with its stone ramparts all holdgreat memories, but
one which stands out most isvisiting the historic town of Mostar in
Bosnia-Herzegovina a fabulous place to visit, not just forits

This tour certainly provides a great mix of beachand sightseeing
opportunities for couples, families and single travellers alike.
Spend yourtime on the golden beaches of the Costa delMaresme or

Benedictine abbeywhich hosts the Virgin of Montserrat and amuseum
with works of art by the likes ofPicasso, Dali and Caravaggio to
name a few,not to mention some absolutely stunning views.
This tour is an absolute delight. Prague is all youexpect with
its quaint narrow streets, traditionalred-roofed buildings, the
wonderful CharlesBridge and a square named after Good

from its grand Imperialpast. Budapest was the big surprise for me;

In need of a break fromher busy business, CarolThornton from
Cumbriajoined Legers Highlightsof Provence and theDordogne 9-day
holiday.
I had never taken a coachtour before, or taken many
holidays alone. All my other travellingcompanions were doing
other things,so I just went to my local travel agencyand booked
with Leger. The coach picked me up near myhome and travelled to
Dover. Althoughtravelling alone, everyone was friendlyand I
especially liked the lounge area atthe rear of the coach I was
soonchatting with my travelling companions.
A Great ExperienceWe travelled from Paris to Orange, avery
pretty town with lots of history. I booked all the optional tours
as Iwanted to see as much as possible as itwas my first visit to
Provence. Each excursion offered a differentexperience and
perspective.
The Pont du Gard was impressive. I loved walking along the
wood-cladriver bank before taking a few picturesof the aqueduct
that once suppliedwater to the city of Nmes.
Avignon was a beautiful, walled townand the Palace des Papes was
palatialand interesting.
Take in the LocalAtmosphere
Marseille was wonderful the sunshone on the blue sea and the
harbourwas filled with fishing boats and yachtsof every
description. I watched the local fishermen sellingthe days very
alive catch beforeheading into the old town and buyingsome
hand-made jewellery for thefamily.
In Nmes I wasespecially lookingforward to seeing thearena, which
is muchlike the Colosseum inRome. It was prettyamazing.
Afterclimbing up to thetop I walked aroundwith fantastic viewsof
the city.
Sarlat was apicture-postcardtown with beautifularchitecture
wherever youlooked seemed aperfect photoopportunity.
We moved on to theDordogne and toRocamadour, perched ona
limestone cliff anincredible location. Iclimbed the steps up tothe
church on the clifftop. Everything inRocamadour is pictureperfect
aphotographers dreamlocation and the highlight of this tour for
me.

Linda and Chris Webb joined Legers16-day tour to take in the
magni!centsights of the Arctic Circle. Here, theytell us all about
their adventure
!is was our sixth Leger tour, so we knewwe were in for a
wonderful time, but just
how wonderful could not be anticipated!"e Adventure
Begins...
Our drivers, the two Steves informed us that wewere not o" on
holiday but on an adventure andwhat an adventure it was!
Taking in the Sights!e coaching throughout was as comfortable
asever, Silver Service is de#nitely the way to travel, the extra
legroom and lounge facilities making themany miles we travelled
very relaxing. !e scenerywas so stunning that our cameras were
snapping allday! !e included and optional excursions wereexcellent
(we did all of them), and our local guideswere very informative and
interesting.
Local Hospitality!e Storslett Hotel even put on an
optionalexcursion which 13 of us took up, which was a tripup river
in motorised canoes to a Sami settlementto feed the reindeer and
see the huskies, as well asreceiving their hospitality. As it was a
real familySami home they were not trying to sell usanything, just
showing us hospitality with thethick Sami co"ee and biscuits and
telling us abouttheir way of life.
Amazing MemoriesWe took so many photos of the stunning placesand
sights that we saw, including the Talvik Fjord, the Midnight Sun at
Rovaniemi and the ArcticCircle in Norway with all of the snow. We
evenvisited Santa as we crossed the Arctic Circle inLapland.
More to Look Forward to...Yet again Leger has exceeded all
expectations andwe are looking forward to our next trips, to
LakeComo at New Year and the new trip toTransylvania, Bulgaria and
