Department to an individual that

officially recognizes him/her as

having complied with the minimum

standards for tour guides.

An individual who guides tourists, both foreign and domestic,

for a fee, commission, or any other form of lawful

remuneration. (CURRENT)

A Filipino or a permanent resident (foreign national) of the Philippines who guides tourists, both foreign and domestic, for a fee, commission, or any other form of lawful remuneration

National/Regional Guide ( Regular Tour Guiding Seminar)

Local Guide (Community Guiding Seminar)

Cave/Mountain/River Guide (Eco-Guiding Seminar)

MINIMUM

• Must be Filipino citizen;

• At least 2nd year college;

• Pass the qualifying interview

by DOT;

• Must undergo and pass a

DOT-sponsored seminar;

• LGU – licensed

• DOT - accredited

REVISED

• Filipino resident or permanent resident foreign national

• Minimum of 18 years old

• Physically and mentally fit

• Mot have been convicted with finality of any crime by a court of justice or dismissed for a cause by any organization, whether public or private.

Regional Guide – At least2nd year college or

two-year vocational course. Also proficient in

English

Specialist Guide - At least2nd year college or

two-year vocational course. Also proficient in

English

Local Guide – at least Elementary. Also

conversant in English

• Occupational Permit

• Proof of undergoing DOT

training/seminar

• Valid Health Certificate

• NBI Clearance

For senior citizens, Health Certificate only

• VALIDITY PERIOD

• 2 years
