Putting Our Learning Into Practice…

• In an urban environment, we simply do not have enough space to travel individually in cars.

• Many different technologies exist, but technology should be the last decision not the first.

• Proper planning, design and operations are necessary.

• Transit must be given the highest possible ROW category to ensure personal mobility rather than vehicular mobility.

• Over 18,000 residents, 7,000 households

• Over 400 square miles in size– Majority of development around Jackson

• Contains – affluent Jackson Hole Skiing area– Grand Teton National Park– Yellowstone National Park

• It has the highest personal per capita income in the US!

• Most residents are very outdoorsy

Requirements from the City Council

• The transit system needs to provide access for residents AND tourists

• Focus of the system should be– Circulating in the service areas– To National Parks & Metro Area

• Funding will support 4 routes– Take advantage of this, choose 4 routes– You can do any mode for these routes
