ਗੋਬ ਿੰਦ ਗਬੋ ਿੰਦ ਗੋਬ ਿੰਦ ਸਿੰਬਗ ਨਾਮਦਉੇ ਮਨੁ ਲੀਣਾ ॥ Naam Dayv's mind was absorbed into God Gobind Gobind, Gobind. ਆਢ ਦਾਮ ਕੋ ਛੀਪਰੋ ਹੋਇਓ ਲਾਖੀਣਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ The calico-printer, worth half a shell, became worth millions. ||1||Pause|| ੁਨਨਾ ਤਨਨਾ ਬਤਆਬਗ ਕੈ ਪਰੀਬਤ ਚਰਨ ਕ ੀਰਾ ॥ Abandoning weaving and stretching thread, Kabeer enshrined love for the Lord's lotus feet. ਨੀਚ ਕੁਲਾ ਜੋਲਾਹਰਾ ਭਇਓ ਗੁਨੀਯ ਗਹੀਰਾ ॥੧॥ A weaver from a lowly family, he became an ocean of excellence. ||1||

ਰਬਿਦਾਸੁ ਢਿੁਿੰਤਾ ਢਰੋ ਨੀਬਤ ਬਤਬਨ ਬਤਆਗੀ ਮਾਇਆ ॥ Ravi Daas, who used to carry dead cows every day, renounced the world of Maya. ਪਰਗਟ ੁਹੋਆ ਸਾਧਸਿੰਬਗ ਹਬਰ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥੨॥ He became famous in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, and obtained the Blessed Vision of the Lord's Darshan. ||2|| ਸੈਨੁ ਨਾਈ ੁਤਕਾਰੀਆ ਓਹ ੁਘਬਰ ਘਬਰ ਸੁਬਨਆ ॥ Sain, the barber, the village drudge, became famous in each and every house. ਬਹਰਦੇ ਿਬਸਆ ਪਾਰ ਰਹਮ ੁਭਗਤਾ ਮਬਹ ਗਬਨਆ ॥੩॥ The Supreme Lord God dwelled in his heart, and he was counted among the devotees. ||3||

ਇਹ ਬ ਬਧ ਸੁਬਨ ਕੈ ਜਾਟਰੋ ਉਬਿ ਭਗਤੀ ਲਾਗਾ ॥ Hearing this, Dhanna the Jaat applied himself to devotional worship. ਬਮਲੇ ਪਰਤਬਖ ਗੁਸਾਈਆ ਧਿੰਨਾ ਿਡਭਾਗਾ ॥੪॥੨॥ The Lord of the Universe met him personally; Dhanna was so very blessed. ||4||2||

People who meet Waheguru can’t stop talking about Waheguru. Their motivation is not money, power or social status. They want the whole world to share in their bliss.

ਕੋਈ ੋਲੈ ਬਨਰਿਾ ਕੋਈ ੋਲੈ ਦਬੂਰ ॥ Some say that He is near, and others say that He is far away. ਜਲ ਕੀ ਮਾਛੁਲੀ ਚਰੈ ਖਜੂਬਰ ॥੧॥ We might just as well say that the fish climbs out of the water, up the tree. ||1|| ਕਾਾਂਇ ਰੇ ਕ ਾਦ ੁਲਾਇਓ ॥ Why do you speak such nonsense? ਬਜਬਨ ਹਬਰ ਪਾਇਓ ਬਤਨਬਹ ਛਪਾਇਓ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ One who has found the Lord, keeps quiet about it. ||1||Pause|| ਪਿੰਬਡਤੁ ਹੋਇ ਕੈ ੇਦ ੁ ਖਾਨੈ ॥ Those who become Pandits, religious scholars, recite the Vedas, ਮੂਰਖੁ ਨਾਮਦੇਉ ਰਾਮਬਹ ਜਾਨੈ ॥੨॥੧॥ But foolish Naam Dayv knows only the Lord. ||2||1||

ਬਨਰਿੰਕਾਰ ਆਕਾਰ ਆਬਪ ਬਨਰਗੁਨ ਸਰਗੁਨ ਏਕ ॥ He Himself is formless, and also formed; the One Lord is without attributes, and also with attributes. ਏਕਬਹ ਏਕ ਖਾਨਨੋ ਨਾਨਕ ਏਕ ਅਨੇਕ ॥੧॥ Describe the One Lord as One, and Only One; O Nanak, He is the One, and the many. ||1||

ਪਬਹਲ ਪੁਰਸਾਬ ਰਾ ॥ First of all, there was only the Primal Being.

ਅਥੋਨ ਪੁਰਸਾਦਮਰਾ ॥ From that Primal Being, Maya was produced.

ਅਸਗਾ ਅਸ ਉਸਗਾ ॥ All that is, is His.

ਹਬਰ ਕਾ ਾਗਰਾ ਨਾਚ ੈਬਪਿੰਧੀ ਮਬਹ ਸਾਗਰਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ In this Garden of the Lord, we all dance, like water in the pots of the Persian wheel. ||1||Pause||

ਨਾਚਿੰਤੀ ਗੋਪੀ ਜਿੰਨਾ ॥ Women and men both dance.

ਨਈਆ ਤੇ ੈਰ ੇਕਿੰਨਾ ॥ There is no other than the Lord.

ਤਰਕੁ ਨ ਚਾ ॥ Don't dispute this,

ਭਰਮੀਆ ਚਾ ॥ and don't doubt this.

ਕੇਸਿਾ ਚਉਨੀ ਅਈਏ ਮਈਏ ਏਕ ਆਨ ਜੀਉ ॥੨॥ The Lord says, "This creation and I are one and the same". ||2||

ਬਪਿੰਧੀ ਉਭਕਲੇ ਸਿੰਸਾਰਾ ॥ Like the pots on the Persian wheel, sometimes the world is high, and sometimes it is low.

ਭਰਬਮ ਭਰਬਮ ਆਏ ਤੁਮ ਚੇ ਦਆੁਰਾ ॥ Wandering and roaming around, I have come at last to Your Door.

ਤੂ ਕੁਨੁ ਰ ੇ॥ Who are you?

ਮੈ ਜੀ ॥ Sir! I am

ਨਾਮਾ ॥ Naam Dayv".

ਹੋ ਜੀ ॥ O, Lord,

ਆਲਾ ਤੇ ਬਨਿਾਰਣਾ ਜਮ ਕਾਰਣਾ ॥੩॥੪॥ please save me from Maya, the cause of death. ||3||4||

The problem - we get stuck in form. People come to teach us about the Formless God and instead we worship them instead of worshipping Waheguru.

ਜਨਬਮ ਮਰੈ ਤਰ ੈਗੁਣ ਬਹਤਕਾਰ ੁ॥ One who loves the three qualities is subject to birth and death. ਚਾਰ ੇ ੇਦ ਕਥਬਹ ਆਕਾਰ ੁ॥ The four Vedas speak only of the visible forms. ਤੀਬਨ ਅਿਸਥਾ ਕਹਬਹ ਿਬਖਆਨੁ ॥ They describe and explain the three states of mind, ਤੁਰੀਆਿਸਥਾ ਸਬਤਗੁਰ ਤੇ ਹਬਰ ਜਾਨੁ ॥੧॥ But the fourth state, union with the Lord, is known only through the True Guru. ||1||

ਪੀਤ ਸਨ ਕੁਿੰਦ ਦਸਨ ਬਪਰਆ ਸਬਹਤ ਕਿੰਿ ਮਾਲ ਮੁਕਟ ੁਸੀਬਸ ਮੋਰ ਪਿੰਖ ਚਾਬਹ ਜੀਉ ॥ As Krishna, You wear yellow robes, with teeth like jasmine flowers; You dwell with Your lovers, with Your mala around Your neck, and You joyfully adorn Your head with the crow of peacock feathers. ੇਿਜੀਰ ਡੇ ਧੀਰ ਧਰਮ ਅਿੰਗ ਅਲਖ ਅਗਮ ਖੇਲੁ ਕੀਆ ਆਪਣੈ ਉਛਾਬਹ ਜੀਉ ॥ You have no advisors, You are so very patient; You are the Upholder of the Dharma, unseen and unfathomable. You have staged the play of the Universe with joy and delight. ਅਕਥ ਕਥਾ ਕਥੀ ਨ ਜਾਇ ਤੀਬਨ ਲੋਕ ਰਬਹਆ ਸਮਾਇ ਸੁਤਹ ਬਸਧ ਰਪੂ ੁਧਬਰਓ ਸਾਹਨ ਕੈ ਸਾਬਹ ਜੀਉ ॥ No one can speak Your Unspoken Speech. You are pervading the three worlds. You assume the form of spiritual perfection, O King of kings. ਸਬਤ ਸਾਚ ੁਸਰੀ ਬਨਿਾਸੁ ਆਬਦ ਪੁਰਖ ੁਸਦਾ ਤੁਹੀ ਿਾਬਹਗੁਰ ੂਿਾਬਹਗੁਰ ੂਿਾਬਹਗੁਰ ੂਿਾਬਹ ਜੀਉ ॥੩॥੮॥ You are forever True, the Home of Excellence, the Primal Supreme Being. Waahay Guru, Waahay Guru, Waahay Guru, Waahay Jee-o. ||3||8|| ਸਬਤਗੁਰ ੂਸਬਤਗੁਰ ੂਸਬਤਗੁਰ ੁਗੁਬ ਿੰਦ ਜੀਉ ॥ The True Guru, the True Guru, the True Guru is the Lord of the Universe Himself.

ਬਲਬਹ ਛਲਨ ਸ ਲ ਮਲਨ ਭਗ੍ਬਤ ਫਲਨ ਕਾਨਹਹ੍ ਕੁਅਰ ਬਨਹਕਲਿੰਕ ਜੀ ਡਿੰਕ ਚੜ੍ਹੂ ਦਲ ਰਬਿਿੰਦ ਜੀਉ ॥ Enticer of Baliraja, who smothers the mighty, and fulfills the devotees; the Prince Krishna, and Kalki; the thunder of His army and the beat of His drum echoes across the Universe. ਰਾਮ ਰਿਣ ਦਰੁਤ ਦਿਣ ਸਕਲ ਭਿਣ ਕੁਸਲ ਕਰਣ ਸਰ ਭੂਤ ਆਬਪ ਹੀ ਦੇਿਾਬਧ ਦੇਿ ਸਹਸ ਮੁਖ ਫਬਨਿੰ ਦ ਜੀਉ ॥ The Lord of contemplation, Destroyer of sin, who brings pleasure to the beings of all realms, He Himself is the God of gods, Divinity of the divine, the thousand-headed king cobra. ਜਰਮ ਕਰਮ ਮਛ ਕਛ ਹਅੁ ਰਾਹ ਜਮੁਨਾ ਕੈ ਕੂਬਲ ਖੇਲੁ ਖੇਬਲਓ ਬਜਬਨ ਬਗਿੰਦ ਜੀਉ ॥ He took birth in the Incarnations of the Fish, Tortoise and Wild Boar, and played His part. He played games on the banks of the Jamunaa River. ਨਾਮ ੁਸਾਰ ੁਹੀਏ ਧਾਰ ੁਤਜ ੁਬ ਕਾਰ ੁਮਨ ਗਯਿੰਦ ਸਬਤਗੁਰ ੂਸਬਤਗੁਰ ੂਸਬਤਗੁਰ ਗੁਬ ਿੰਦ ਜੀਉ ॥੪॥੯॥ Enshrine this most excellent Name within your heart, and renounce the wickedness of the mind, O Gayand the True Guru, the True Guru, the True Guru is the Lord of the Universe Himself. ||4||9|| ਬਸਰੀ ਗੁਰ ੂਬਸਰੀ ਗੁਰ ੂਬਸਰੀ ਗੁਰ ੂਸਬਤ ਜੀਉ ॥ The Supreme Guru, the Supreme Guru, the Supreme Guru, the True, Dear Lord.

God lives in his Holy People.

ਸਿੰਤਾਾਂ ਮਧੇ ਗੋਬ ਿੰਦ ੁਆਛੈ ਗੋਕਲ ਮਧ ੇਬਸਆਮ ਗ ੋ॥ The Lord of the Universe, Govind, is within His Saints; Krishna, Shyaam, is in Gokal.

ਨਾਮੇ ਮਧੇ ਰਾਮੁ ਆਛੈ ਰਾਮ ਬਸਆਮ ਗਬੋ ਿੰਦ ਗ ੋ॥੪॥੩॥ The Lord, Raam, is in Naam Dayv. So here they are: Raam, Shyaam, Govind. ||4||3||

ਏਕ ਬਕਰਸਨਿੰ ਸਰ ਦੇਿਾ ਦਿੇ ਦਿੇਾ ਤ ਆਤਮਾ ॥

The One Lord Krishna is the Divine Lord of all; He is the Divinity of the individual soul.

ਆਤਮਾ ਾਸੁਦੇਿਬਸਯਯ ਜੇ ਕੋ ਜਾਣੈ ਭੇਉ ॥

One who understands the mystery of all-pervading Lord.

ਨਾਨਕੁ ਤਾ ਕਾ ਦਾਸੁ ਹ ੈਸਈੋ ਬਨਰਿੰਜਨ ਦੇਉ ॥੪॥

Nanak is a slave to him; he himself is the Immaculate Divine Lord. ||4||

ਗੁਰ ਸਿੇਾ ਆਬਪ ਹਬਰ ਭਾਿੈ ॥

Service to the Guru is pleasing to the Lord Himself.

ਬਕਰਸਨੁ ਲਭਦਰ ੁਗੁਰ ਪਗ ਲਬਗ ਬਧਆਿ ੈ॥

Even Krishna and Balbhadar meditated on the Lord, falling at the Guru's Feet.

ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰਮੁਬਖ ਹਬਰ ਆਬਪ ਤਰਾਿ ੈ॥੪॥੫॥੪੩॥

O Nanak, the Lord Himself saves the Gurmukhs. ||4||5||43||

ਲਖ ਚਉਰਾਸੀਹ ਜੀਅ ਜੋਬਨ ਮਬਹ ਭਰਮਤ ਨਿੰ ਦ ੁ ਹ ੁਥਾਕ ੋਰ ੇ॥ Wandering through 8.4 million incarnations, Krishna's father Nand was totally exhausted. ਭਗਬਤ ਹੇਬਤ ਅਿਤਾਰ ੁਲੀਓ ਹੈ ਭਾਗੁ ਡੋ ਪੁਰਾ ਕੋ ਰ ੇ॥੧॥ Because of his devotion, Krishna was incarnated in his home; how great was the good fortune of this poor man! ||1|| ਤੁਮਹਹ੍ ਜੁ ਕਹਤ ਹਉ ਨਿੰ ਦ ਕ ੋਨਿੰ ਦਨੁ ਨਿੰ ਦ ਸੁ ਨਿੰ ਦਨੁ ਕਾ ਕੋ ਰ ੇ॥ You say that Krishna was Nand's son, but whose son was Nand himself? ਧਰਬਨ ਅਕਾਸੁ ਦਸੋ ਬਦਸ ਨਾਹੀ ਤ ਇਹ ੁਨਿੰ ਦ ੁਕਹਾ ਥ ੋਰ ੇ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ When there was no earth or ether or the ten directions, where was this Nand then? ||1||Pause|| ਸਿੰਕਬਟ ਨਹੀ ਪਰ ੈਜੋਬਨ ਨਹੀ ਆਿ ੈਨਾਮੁ ਬਨਰਿੰਜਨ ਜਾ ਕ ੋਰ ੇ॥ He does not fall into misfortune, and He does not take birth; His Name is the Immaculate Lord ਕ ੀਰ ਕੋ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਐਸੋ ਿਾਕੁਰ ੁਜਾ ਕੈ ਮਾਈ ਨ ਾਪ ੋਰ ੇ॥੨॥੧੯॥੭੦॥ Kabeer's Lord is such a Lord and Master, who has no mother or father. ||2||19||70||

For you to see God in the 10th gate you must be free of everything in Maya; anything made of five elements – both visible and sukum.

ਦਰੋਗੁ ਪਬੜ੍ ਪਬੜ੍ ਖਸੁੀ ਹੋਇ ੇਖ ਰ ਾਦ ੁ ਕਾਬਹ ॥

Reading and studying falsehood, people are happy; in their ignorance, they speak nonsense.

ਹਕੁ ਸਚ ੁਖਾਲਕੁ ਖਲਕ ਬਮਆਨੇ ਬਸਆਮ ਮੂਰਬਤ ਨਾਬਹ ॥੨॥

The True Creator Lord is diffused into His creation; He is not just the dark-skinned Krishna of legends. ||2||

ਅਸਮਾਨ iਮਯਯਾਨੇ ਲਹਿੰਗ ਦਰੀਆ ਗੁਸਲ ਕਰਦਨ ੂਦ ॥

Through the Tenth Gate, the stream of nectar flows; take your bath in this.

ਕਬਰ ਫਕਰ ੁਦਾਇਮ ਲਾਇ ਚਸਮੇ ਜਹ ਤਹਾ ਮਉਜੂਦ ੁ॥੩॥

Serve the Lord forever; use your eyes, and see Him ever-present everywhere. ||3||

ਨਾਨਕ ਬਨਰਭਉ ਬਨਰਿੰਕਾਰ ੁਹੋਬਰ ਕਤੇ ੇਰਾਮ ਰਿਾਲ ॥

O Nanak, the Lord is fearless and formless; myriads of others, like Rama, are mere dust before Him.

ਕੇਤੀਆ ਕਿੰਨਹਹ੍ ਕਹਾਣੀਆ ਕਤੇੇ ਦੇ ੀਚਾਰ ॥

There are so many stories of Krishna, so many who reflect over the Vedas.

ਹਬਰ ਅਗਮੁ ਅਗਚੋਰ ੁਅਗਮ ੁਹਬਰ ਬਕਉ ਕਬਰ ਹਬਰ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਬਪਖਾ ॥ The Lord is Inaccessible and Unfathomable. How will I see the Blessed Vision of the Lord's Darshan? ਬਕਛੁ ਿਖਰ ੁਹੋਇ ਸੁ ਿਰਨੀਐ ਬਤਸੁ ਰਪੂੁ ਨ ਬਰਖਾ ॥ If He were a material object, then I could describe Him, but He has no form or feature.

ਸੋ ਹਬਰ ਪੁਰਖ ੁਅਗਿੰਮੁ ਹੈ ਕਹ ੁਬਕਤੁ ਬ ਬਧ ਪਾਈਐ ॥ The Lord God is inaccessible; tell me, how can we find Him? ਬਤਸੁ ਰਪੂੁ ਨ ਰਖੇ ਅਬਦਰਸਟ ੁਕਹ ੁਜਨ ਬਕਉ ਬਧਆਈਐ ॥ He has no form or feature, and He cannot be seen; tell me, how can we meditate on Him?

ਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਮੂਰਬਤ ਮਨ ਮਬਹ ਬਧਆਨੁ ॥ Meditate on the image of the Guru within your mind; ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸ ਬਦ ਮਿੰਤਰੁ ਮਨੁ ਮਾਨ ॥ Let your mind accept the Word of the Guru's Shabad, and His Mantra. ਗੁਰ ਕੇ ਚਰਨ ਬਰਦ ੈਲੈ ਧਾਰਉ ॥ Enshrine the Guru's feet within your heart. ਗੁਰ ੁਪਾਰ ਰਹਮੁ ਸਦਾ ਨਮਸਕਾਰਉ ॥੧॥ Bow in humility forever before the Guru, the Supreme Lord God. ||1||
