2. Describe the progression of symptoms from the prepsychotic phase (prodromal symptoms) to the acute phase or schizophrenia.

3. Differentiate between the positive and negative symptoms of schizophrenia with regard to (a) their response to traditional and atypical antipsychotic medications, (b) their effect of quality of life, and (c) their significance for the prognosis of the disease.
