Learning Revit MEP 2012 – HVAC Systems
Description Duration: 3 days
Revit MEP is the design and construction documentation solution for mechanical, electrical & plumbing (MEP) engineers. Seamlessly collaborate with architects using Revit Architecture software in an intuitive design environment. Minimize coordination errors with architects and structural engineers using the Revit platform and building information modeling (BIM) workflows. And with BIM, provide better decision making and building performance analysis support for engineers.
In this 3 days hands‐on training course, focus will be on HVAC systems by learning the fundamental features of Revit MEP 2012, creating HVAC system, creating HVAC families, customizing Revit MEP to meet your company’s standard then progressing through system analysis, heat load calculations and construction documentation before finishing with design visualization and clash detection.
Course Objectives
The primary objective of this courseware is to teach engineers the concept of building information modeling and introduce the tools for parametric engineering HVAC design, shop drawings and documentation using Revit MEP 2012.
After completing this course, participants will be able to:
• Describe the benefits of building information modeling
• Use fundamental features of Revit MEP
• Use the parametric 3D design tools to create and analyze HVAC systems
• Annotate & create project schedules
• Create construction documentation
• Build Revit MEP families & templates library
• Work on HVAC projects requiring Revit MEP skills
Who should attend & prerequisites
This courseware is designed for new users of Revit MEP. No previous CAD experience is necessary. However, before using this courseware, participants should have a working knowledge of the following:
• MEP engineering principles, in particular HVAC principles
• Microsoft Windows XP or Microsoft Windows 7
