Language Centre The Language Centre offers German Language Courses

from level A1 (basic) to C2 (proficient) to all interested

students, guests, post-graduates and members of staff.

Our Courses The current course programme can be found online at:

Main Courses (2x90min/week, 60h) The main courses systematically practise listening,

reading, speaking and writing skills. Taking part in these

courses, it is usually possible to complete one CEFR-

Level German in two semesters. For example, taking the

A1.1 course and, in the following semester, the A1.2

course means that you would complete the A1-Level.

With the help of a textbook you will learn new

vocabulary for various topics, develop new grammatical

structures and improve your pronunciation.

Example

Intensive Courses (4-5 weeks, 60h) Our intensive courses provide the same opportunities to

study German as our main courses, but they tale place in

the evening. In contrast to our main courses, you are

able to take up to two intensive courses per semester

and therefore finish one CEFR-Level each semester.

Courses

Complementary and In-Depth Courses,

Subject-Specific Courses (1x90min/week, 30h) Complementary and in-depth courses focus on specific

aspects of the German language, e.g. phonetics, writing,

grammar, or reading and listening comprehension.

Our subject-specific courses offer students and

professionals in the fields of economics/business and

medicine practical, relevant knowledge of German.

live, A2 Language Games and Vocabulary, B1 German for

the Workplace, B2+ The Literary Film and C1/C2

Literature of the Early Romanticism in Jena.

Self-Access Learning Tutorial In addition to your German courses you have the

opportunity to access our learning software and improve

your German — personalized and free of charge.
