Essential Questions: What does it mean to overcome adversity? What does it take to overcome adversity? How do we overcome adversity in our own lives?

Enduring Understandings: It takes perseverance, belief in oneself, and a positive attitude to overcome adversity. There are many different ways in which people face and overcome adversity. It is difficult to overcome adversity without the help and support of others.
