Challenges: Add all of the single digits together! Can you add all of the 3- digit numbers together? Prodigy: 30 minutes Today is Teacher Appreciation day! Last year, it was on May 7th. Find out the number of days between Teacher Appreciation Day in 2019 and 2020 (today). Prodigy: 30 minutes A net is a 2D figure that can be folded to create a 3D figure! Can you find things in your home that are the same shape as this 3D figure? Save your new figures for your physical activity later today! *There are 2 pages for this activity Prodigy: 30 minutes Is 2020 a leap year? Find out when the last 3 leap years were as well as the next 3 leap years . Write them all down in order. Can you see a pattern? What is the pattern for leap years? Prodigy: 30 minutes List 7 activities that you will do today (example: brushing your teeth, eating dinner, etc.). Then, write down what time you did each activity using A.M. and P.M. Bonus: Create a timeline to represent your day! Prodigy: 30 minutes Literacy Ask your parent/guardian what they need to get at the grocery store this week, and help them make a list by writing everything down! Read: 20 minutes A Haiku is a short poem that is made up of three lines with a specific number of syllables in each line. Line 1: 5 syllables Line 2: 7 syllables Line 3: 5 syllables Write your very own Haiku! Read: 20 minutes Describe what you would do if you had one million dollars. You can write a story, make a list — just write all your wonderful ideas down! Read: 20 minutes Pick your favorite book and read it out loud to a younger sibling, a pet, or another member of your family. Don’t forget to show them the pictures if there are pictures in your book! Read: 20 minutes Learn how to say “hello” in 6 different languages besides English. You can ask friends or relatives who speak another language, or do a little research on your own! Read: 20 minutes Physical Can you move like the following animals? 1. Hop like a frog 2. Slide like a seal 3. Walk like a bear 4. Slither like a snake 5. Waddle like a duck 6. Jump like a kangaroo 7. Crawl like an inchworm Freeze Dance! Ask a family member to help you with this activity and play some music. Dance to the music! But when the music stops, you have to freeze like a statue. When you hear the music again, start dancing! Your 3D figure was a cube! Roll your Action Dice that you made for your numeracy activity! One dice will tell you what action to perform, and the other one will tell you how many times to do it! Repeat as many times as you’d like! Go for a walk in your home and see if you can find everything on the list! Bring the sheet and a pencil and check things off as you find them! Hint: To find some things, you might need to look out the window! Fashion Show Friday! Get creative and put together 5 wacky outfits (don’t forget accessories!). Then, play some music and put on a fashion show for your family. Make sure to do your fiercest walk! Social & Emotional Is your teacher your inspiration, friend, listener, motivator, or hero?
