Questions that Drive, Empower, Lead• Am I “network literate”?• Am I “Googled well”? Am I in control of

my "personal brand?"• Am I learning with/for/because of others

who I do/don't see face to face?• Am I a “mobile learner”? Can I find and

contribute information and ideas across multiple mediums and networks?

• Am I reading and writing differently?• Am I collaborating, co-constructing and

collectively acting with others?• Am I a learner first, teacher second?• Do I have a strategy or plan for finding

reliable sources and influential individuals to grow me personally and professionally?

One Principal's PLN Journey

Administrators and teachers need to begin to embrace the effective use of social media for their

own professional growth, to create authentic learning environments that engage students, and to utilize the expertise of professionals in a variety of content areas. The one thing that Twitter and social media has taught me is that people truly

want to share their ideas, knowledge, and experiences for the collective good.

~Eric Sheninger, Principal of New Milford HS (NJ), @NMHS_Principal
