I gave this talk at the IEEE Women In Engineering Leadership conference in San Francisco on May 3, 2014.

Title: Leadership and Parenting: Two Great Skills that Go Great Together

Summary: As a tech executive and a working mom, I found that I became a stronger leader because of the parenting skills I learned, and a better parent because of the leadership training I received. And thank goodness! Like many working parents, I often felt swamped raising children just when my career was growing in both responsibility and complexity. By using my parenting and leadership skills in tandem, I was able to relish my busy life and be happier at both work and home.
• Hear examples of how parenting and leadership skills intersect
• Discover tips to be more effective both at home and at work
• Feel less guilty about not being a perfect parent or a perfect leader
