Leadership Neo Shabalala – Chief Executive Officer
Neo is the Chief Executive Officer and founder of
Governance Management Consulting. She is responsible
for all aspects of the firm’s strategy, team and operations.
Neo leads the firm in its mission to help clients improve their
performance and achieve their goals. She is passionate
about delivering the best quality service to her clients.
Neo’s past roles include a Board member and partner
at KPMG. She held various positions at KPMG, which
included being the Chairperson of the Transformation
Committee and Head of Public Sector for the Durban
office. As the Head of Public Sector, she was responsible
for the formulation and implementation of the public sector
strategy. Prior to joining KPMG, Neo was a Consultant with
Deloitte. Positions held at Deloitte span through Helpdesk
Technician to Business Analyst.
Neo has worked with clients in various industries on their
most challenging and strategic transformation projects
for the past 18 years. She specialises in working with
organisation transformations involving business and IT
strategy, governance, growth, IT auditing, performance
improvement and organisational effectiveness. She has
assisted numerous clients in both the public and private
sector with aligning their IT to the business strategy,
compliance and extracting value from IT investment.
She has worked with Government in providing strategic
consulting on interventions to boost economic growth
of the ICT sector in the KwaZulu-Natal province. This
involved numerous research engagements on the state and
situation of the ICT sector in the province. She has an in-
depth knowledge of government policies and strategies.
Neo holds an Honours Bachelor of Science (BSc) in
Information Systems, Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) in
Information Systems and Technology and a Diploma in
Business Management and Administration. She qualified
as an Information System Auditor with ISACA.
