By design the Leadership Certificate Challenge asks students to build their own networks and reach out to find that special mentor like yourself. It is one of the many tasks/challenges they are encouraged to take on. The Leadership Challenge as a whole is designed to give students the opportunity to grow personally and as leaders so they may become more productive as teammates, classmates, co- workers and citizens. You are an essential part of the Leadership Challenge and your students’ development. We also understand that your time is precious, and so we have provided some additional context about the Leadership Challenge in the attached documents and a simple summary of your responsibilities as a mentor below. Your responsibilities: Over the course of your mentee’s undergraduate career, be available and engaged in 10 one-on-one sessions (15-20 min. each). At Each one-on-one session we ask students come prepared with an “Event Credit Forms,” showing that they have sought out and reflected upon an event/workshop/conference or any event that will contribute to their personal or professional development. We ask you sign each form to signal a completed session. Familiarize yourself with the 7 C’s” of the Leadership Model for Social Change from which the program model is grounded in.
