This game is mostly played in high Brittany, in the region of Rennes

« Palets » game is a friendly game suitable for everyone, boys and girls of all ages.

Material « Palets » in cast iron

: each palet has a diameter of 5.5cm and a thickness of about 6mm. It weighs about 140 grams.Palets have numbers .

A little « palet » named

« master » or « petit » with a diameter of 4.5cm .

A board made of poplar wood . The board is square and mesures usually 70cm in each side. It has a thickness of 3 cm.

Installation : where, how ?

The ground surface must be very flat and stable

You have to draw a line game and place the edge of the board about 4 or 5 meters from the line

This is a game of skill, the aim is to get as close as possible to the

« petit » or « master »

How to throw palets...

The palet has to be surrounded by the forefinger and thumb and rest on the other fingers folded. With a rocking motion along the body, you move your arm ahead, throwing the palet

RULES

2 teams of 1 or 2 or 4 players, each player has got one or more pairs of « palets » with the same numbers

To determine who will start the game, a player of each team throws a « palet » on the board, the « petit » is at the center of it. The palet that landed closest to the petit determines which begins.

After launching the « petit », the first player throws his two successive palets. Then comes into play the representative of the other team and throws at turn two palets. The next player will be part of the losing team, a team plays as long as it does not dominate. If during the game, a player drives the « petit » out of the board, we start the game again. Only count the points closest to the « petit ». In the next game team who won the previous game introduces the « petit ».

The scoring is done by counting the number of palets closest to the master with respect to the palets of the opponent in the best position.

A palet that touches the ground or landed on the ground does'nt count

The team that first reaches 12 points wins
