TWIC Reader Rule

•Advanced Notice of Proposed Rule Making- Risk-based approach to TWIC reader requirements

regulation

•NPRM based upon results from pilot program and ANPRM comments

•Future rule may require different levels of TWIC verification based on risk

- All will have to supply valid TWIC for unescorted access

- Visual and/or biometric check

•Attempts have been made- First known case occurred at Port Fourchon, LA- Identification by facility security staff- Eight cases known to date

•Fraudulent use will be prosecuted
