WE ARE LEGACY.We are relationships. Since 1999, Legacy has provided a quality education built upon Christ-centered relationships.

At Legacy, we love students without exception. We understand the impact relationships have on learning and want you to know that from the minute you drop your child off until the moment you pick them up, your child is loved and nurtured. Our teachers and coaches are equally passionate about their subjects and their students.

We are Christ-centered without apology; we want our students to love God, know His word, and defend truth. Legacy stands to provide an environment of academic quality, steeped in Biblical truths and perspective, including a Christ-centered worldview integrated into every facet of campus life. For us, Bible is not just another class or subject, but a way of life.

Legacy is committed to academic excellence. We believe strongly in an engaged learning environment that equips our students with critical thinking skills resulting in impassioned, life-long learners. Alongside academics, we value athletics and arts and work to provide an environment in which your student can participate and thrive in all three disciplines.

FALL SEMESTER

Eagle Expo is your one-stop shop for all things Legacy. Meet your teachers, catch-up with old friends, and get ready for the new year! Sign up for student activities, purchase spirit wear, decorate your locker, and unpack school supplies. But wait there’s more - families gather for an evening of worship, prayer, and fun at our Hawaiian Falls Back-to-School Bash!

1 // EAGLE EXPO

40+ top colleges and universities from across the country converge upon LCA’s Upper School Commons. Legacy 8th-12th students have the opportunity to visit with representatives in this intimate setting. The mix includes state and private, secular and Christian, large and small. In addition to traditional colleges, service academies are also represented.

2 // COLLEGE FAIR

Grandparents are an integral part of the LCA community! PreK-Grade 6 students, parents, & grandparents gather for some good ol’ fashioned fun. Following the program, students show off their classrooms and school work to their grandparents and special guests. Be sure to stop by the spirit shop, book fair, and photo area!

3 // GRANDPARENTS’ DAY

Homecoming week is the highlight of LCA’s fall semester. Topping off a fun week of dress-up days, games, and evening activities, is the homecoming parade. PreK-8th graders make class banners and freshmen-seniors create floats to promote school spirit. The marching band, homecoming court, and fall sports teams participate making this a marquee event.

SPRING SEMESTER

The 2013-2014 school year marks LCA’s 15th year! In October, we celebrated Legacy and the influence LCA has on our community and families with a dinner and auction featuring Jase Robertson of A&E’s Duck Dynasty. The evening focused on “Faith, Family, Legacy.” The Mayor of Frisco presented a proclamation recognizing Legacy’s contribution to the City of Frisco over the last 15 years.

5 // CELEBRATION

Math night is a fun & interactive evening in the spring where parents & students work together. 1st through 4th graders take their parents through a series of games and competitions showing off their skills, winning door-prizes, and sometimes even teaching them a thing or two!

6 // MATH NIGHT

Lace up your running shoes and come on out for Laps for Legacy. Laps is our annual fundraising event where students get pledges from family and friends and run 20 laps! The day culminates in a carnival style celebration complete with snow cones, rock-climbing, and dunking-booth!

8 // LAPS FOR LEGACY

Each May, LCA hosts the TJ Tomeny Legacy Classic Golf Tournament at Stonebriar Country Club. The tournament raises money for Legacy’s Tuition Assistance Program FLY (Fund Legacy’s Youth). This is a great opportunity to help provide a quality education for students.

9 // TJ TOMENY LEGACY CLASSIC

101 pieces of candy, 101 buttons, 101 feathers, 101 googly eyes. Join our 1st graders as they celebrate the 101st day of school by dressing in 101 different things and releasing 101 balloons!

7 // 101st DAY OF SCHOOL

Graduation, the culmination of years of hard-work, is a little different at LCA. The graduation ceremony, which takes place at Stonebriar Community Chruch, is an intimate event where each senior is recognized and celebrated individually. Come early to see the seniors’ memory tables where they display photos, awards, and memorabilia from their time at Legacy.

UP!SPIRITUAL DEVELOPMENTThe ultimate goal of spiritual development at Legacy is to graduate students who have an abiding, personal relationship with God and a thorough knowledge of His Word. Meeting this goal prepares our students to interpret the world around them and respond to it biblically in their thinking and actions. We have built our program to be a balanced mix of training in theology, Bible memorization, and apologetics, with a special emphasis on living out the Christian faith in daily life. Time dedicated to worship, prayer, and service to others is one way we seek to model our lives after the example set by Jesus.

CHARACTER PROGRAM

EAGLE CLUB

ADVISORY GROUPSLCA students grades 9-12 are given the opportunity following each chapel to meet in small peer groups to discuss chapel topics and provide encouragement to each other. Each group is assigned a mentor which remains with the group until they graduate. These advisory groups provide prayer, support, and directed accountability into the lives of LCA students.

APOLOGETICSThe word apologetics, in Greek, literally means, “to defend.” It’s found in 1 Peter 3:15 which says, “always be prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you.” At LCA we equip students to defend the truth of Christianity.

SENIOR RETREAT

“Pursuit of Faith and Freedom” is an exciting trip to Virginia for Legacy 8th graders. Students explore our country’s heritage by visiting places such as Richmond, Monticello, St. John’s Church, Colonial Williamsburg, Jamestown, and Yorktown.

The Living Museum is a must see historical event that allows one to witness history come-to-life. In May, every Legacy 3rd grader will “come to life” and will represent the lives of men and women whom God chose to make an important impact on our nation’s history.

Each February, our cafeteria is transformed into a “Winter Wonderland” as students recite and share published poetry pieces. The students share a beautiful Poetry Book with their family which displays their polished poetry and personalized illustrations.

The 4th Grade Texas History Trip is a hands-on opportunity to explore the symbols of Texas. A few highlights are tours of the Texas State Capitol Building, the Alamo, and the San Jose Mission. Students experience a growth in their friendships as they “camp out” together in the cabins of the TBarM Resort in New Braunfels.

PreK finishes up a unit on the life-cycle of pumpkins with this trip showing God’s creation in a hands-on way. Students enjoy a hay ride through the farm, feeding the animals, and picking their own pumpkin from the patch to take home.

On this science-based trip, students learn about God, the Great Scientist. They take outdoor classes, learning about forces in nature, how to use a compass, the health of fresh water, and ranch animals. In addition to science activities, students also complete team-building activities throughout the trip.

Each December, the senior class travels to Camp Eagle, a full service, year-round Christian camp in the Texas Hill Country. Seniors experience hiking, high ropes and cliff challenges, and rappelling. In addition to the confidence gained from accomplishing many of these adventures, the seniors also grow closer as friends and as a class.

Prom is an elegant evening of fellowship and dancing with friends. The thematic decor and beautiful locations may change annually, but the result is always the same - an unforgettable night of memories that will last a lifetime.

GIVEBACK [ [BUCKNER BIRTHDAY BOXESAll Kindergarten through 8th grade classes “adopt” a student through the Buckner International Apartment Ministries. The classes pray for their adopted child throughout the year and also provide a birthday box which includes all of the supplies needed for a birthday party: gift, cake mix, gift bag, candy, plates, cups, and more!

CORNERSTONE SOUP KITCHEN

FRISCO FLYERS

Each month, Legacy students and families head to Cornerstone Baptist Church in downtown Dallas to serve the homeless in their soup kitchen. The students not only get to prepare and serve the meal for 250 homeless people, but they get to spend time getting to know them and sharing the love of Christ.

Frisco Flyers is the Special Olympics team here in Frisco. Legacy sends volunteers to help with sports practices for the Flyers. Each fall the LCA Varsity Football team and Cheerleaders host a sports clinic on campus.

CORNERSTONE RANCHCornerstone Ranch is a home in McKinney for adults with special needs. Each month, LCA students host an event for the residents. These events range from dinner or movie nights to inviting the residents to Legacy sporting events.

FAMILY SERVICE DAY

FISD PARTNERSHIP

November 16th, 2013 marked the first of many Legacy Christian Academy Family Service Days. Students of all ages and their families came together to serve our community. Younger students supplied and made peanut butter and jelly sandwiches to hand out to the homeless and older students and families did work projects for Cornerstone Ranch.

A vital aspect to LCA’s service philosophy is partnering with our local school district. Beginning in 2013, LCA has committed to partnering with FISD on their school supply drive and Small World Angel Tree benefiting underprivileged children in the Frisco community.

Legacy Christian Academy desires to be the hands and feet of Christ in our community, knowing that we can do nothing without the Spirit of Christ in us. We recognize that the value of service is not found in the amount of time devoted to serving, but in the relationships formed. Therefore we have chosen to invest in ongoing projects in and around our community.

WHAT IS FLY?FLY stands for Fund Legacy’s Youth and is the tuition assistance program at Legacy Christian Academy. The purpose of the FLY program is to provide tuition assistance to qualified families and their students. Each of these families desire that their students have an education in which the student will gain a Biblical worldview and be well-prepared for life, college, and career. The only roadblock for these families is that their income level cannot fully cover the tuition investment. At Legacy Christian Academy, we offer tuition assistance through FLY so that any family desiring a Christian education will have the opportunity to receive one. FLY allows us to equip all students to become strong leaders with Biblical convictions for tomorrow.

HOW IS FLY ADMINISTERED?LCA uses an outside firm to conduct an independent review, verification ,and analysis of an applicant’s financial condition and need, using its own guidelines and criteria, and then provides LCA with a written recommendation on whether an applicant is qualified to receive financial assistance. The final selection process is conducted by an anonymous committee appointed by the LCA governing board. Financial assistance applications are approved and administered to qualified applicants accordingly.

HOW CAN I APPLY FOR TUITION ASSISTANCE?To apply for tuition assistance, please contact the LCA Business Office at 469.633.1300 x226.
