This square is the first in the series of squares designed and named for my grandchildren. All of these squares
are designed to be used as blanket squares, a center piece for a blanket, a pillow or tote. My youngest
granddaughter, Lauren Rose is active, inquisitive, and so darn smart. I made nine squares, joined and
designed a border that “came from my heart”. This pattern is for the square only.
Difficulty: Intermediate

Yarn: I Love This Cotton #4 (Medium-Worsted Weight), 100% cotton Mini Square 40 - 50 yards Large Square 115 - 150 yards
Colors: I used contrasting colors for better stitch identification. At the end of the pattern is an “aqua-on-aqua” square. Using different shades of the same color created depth. Be creative!

Invisible Join • Do not join after the last st of the rnd is completed; cut
the yarn and pull the yarn tail through the st.
• Remove hook, and insert it from the back to the front of the 2nd st of the rnd; grab the yarn and gently pull through.
• Insert the hook from back to front and bottom to top of the center of the last st of the rnd; pull yarn gently through and weave in end.
Standing Stitch • Start with a slst on your hook.

FPsc2tog • Insert the hook from the front to the back around the
post of the first designated st. Yarn over and pull up a loop. (2 loops on hook)
• Leaving the 2 loops on the hook, insert hook from the front to the back around the post of the next designated st. Yarn over and pull up a loop. (3 loops on hook)
