Dear Friends and Family, We are continuing to make connections with new schools in the area that are wanting us to do retreats. This month we had a school from Clifden, which is about an hour away. The kids seemed really nice and open. At one point in the day, Mike and I shared our stories and included a clear gospel message. Then we offered to pray with any of the students that wanted to. Most of them came forward one at a time for us to pray with them. Mike asked if any of them felt or experienced anything while we were praying. About 5 of them said they did. from a welling up of joy, a sense of heat, and a feeling of peace. It was very interesting to talk about that with them and just to see how the Spirit works in different ways. We are currently enjoying our Easter break. The schools and also our café are always closed for two weeks around this holy day. It has been a nice relaxing time of slowing down, enjoying the outdoors and being rejuvenated. It has also been a nice time connecting with friends. It was so fun to have Peter and Jackie White here a few weeks ago. Then this week I get to show my friend Becca Craig around Galway and spend a few days exploring Dublin. Dear Friends and Family,

We are continuing to make connections with new schools in the

area that are wanting us to do retreats. This month we had a school

from Clifden, which is about an hour away. The kids seemed really nice

and open. At one point in the day, Mike and I shared our stories and

included a clear gospel message. Then we offered to pray with any of

the students that wanted to. Most of them came forward one at a time

for us to pray with them. Mike asked if any of them felt or experienced

anything while we were praying. About 5 of them said they did. from a

welling up of joy, a sense of heat, and a feeling of peace. It was very

interesting to talk about that with them and just to see how the Spirit

works in different ways.

We are currently enjoying our Easter break. The schools and also

our café are always closed for two weeks around this holy day. It has

been a nice relaxing time of slowing down, enjoying the outdoors and

being rejuvenated. It has also been a nice time connecting with friends.

It was so fun to have Peter and Jackie White here a few weeks ago.

Then this week I get to show my friend Becca Craig around Galway and

spend a few days exploring Dublin. It’s nice to have that touch of home

while also getting to share my life here with Tulsa friends.

Life in Galway One of the really nice things about living or visiting Galway is it’s easy access to many of West Ireland’s most famous sights. Many bus tours to the Cliffs of Moher, the Burren, the Connemara and the Aran Islands and leave from the Galway Coach Station every morning full of tourist from all over the world. Throughout my time in Ireland I have gotten to go on all of these tour and they each allow you to see a different aspect of Ireland’s natural beauty. Most recently I went to the Cliffs of Moher. These cliffs jet out over the west bank and visitors can look over the edge (from a safe distance of course) to the Atlantic Ocean 700 feet below. Even if you have never been to Ireland you may find these cliffs familiar from the movie The Princess Bride, as this sight was used to film the cliffs of insanity scene.

Stories from the Cafe

Mike, our onsite director, asked me to put together a business size card that gave people a simple guide of how to pray. It quickly became know as the THIS prayer. He had been using this explanation when people asked him how to pray when he was either out on the streets or in retreats. We wanted to make it a double sided card and had a few options of what to put on the other side. We had a mix of scriptures and a prayer. We could see benefits of all the options and were having a tough time deciding, so he suggested I ask some of the kids. I figured there was no better time than lunch when we have the most kids around. So after most of them had finished eating but before they rushed back to school, I stopped by several of the tables and explained what we were doing and asked if they would be willing to help. Most of them were more then willing to offer their opinion. I tried to use this as an opportunity to open up conversation with some of the kids we usually only see to deliver food and a smile. Some of them were open to talking more about it while others preferred to just vote on one of the options. I was able to talk to about 25 students in the span of 10-15 minutes. It was interesting to see how open they were to help me and in doing so read a simple gospel message, when they would have politely declined or dismissed it if just given the card. It was a very interesting approach and learning experience for me. A week or so later one of the boys asked me what we decided and I was able to show him the final product which was John 3:16 and the prayer. Please join me in praying God uses the contents of the cards as much as he did the process of their creation.

For a while I have wanted to develop some sort of side business to help raise money

to contribute towards the mission work I am involved in. I have always enjoyed

being creative and designing things. Since moving to Ireland I have come to really

enjoy taking walks and photographing the scenery around me. So I started

brainstorming how I could join these passions. I turned a few of my favorite pictures

into cards to give some of my family and friends for Christmas presents this last year.

They really liked them and encouraged me to print some more to sell. Thanks to the internet and several

helping hands in Tulsa, LD Design is now offering 4 different collection.

Each set sells for $7 and includes: 8 blank note cards and 8 white envelops

100% of the profit from the sale of these cards will be given to Foundation in Christ Ministries
