FASHION TRENDS FOR WOMEN

  During the Christmas 2011 season, party clothes are being emphasized for women. Short and funky party dresses are very trendy.

  Overcoats and outerwear are also very popular. Pea coats, capes, wraps, and furs are all very popular outerwear. Leather bomber jackets are also particularly trendy.

  Bright and metalic colors are very popular, along with lace, ruffles, floral patterns, and velvet.

  Ankle boots, leather biker boots and high-heeled boots are very popular foot wear. Colored stockings with crazy patterns are also featured during this season.

  Bright colors and metallics: Gold, bright blue, electric purple, pea yellow, and fire orange.

  Fabrics include: velvet, silk, lace, fur, leather, cotton, chiffon, satin, and other luxury party fabrics.

FASHION TRENDS FOR MEN   During the Christmas 2011 season, casual chic is the popular

style for men. Three piece suits, cashmere sweaters, slacks, button-up shirts, and chinos are popular.

  Overcoats and outerwear are as popular among men as they are among women. Pea coats, leather jackets, and duffle coats are the most popular among men this holiday season.

  Deep colors of blues, browns, greys, and burgandy are popular, as well as pea yellow. Tweed, cashmere, cotton, and silk are trendy as are stripes and plaid prints.

  Leather hiking boots, loafers, and dress shoes are worn. Men find it trendy to roll the bottom of their plants, slacks and chinos to show off their plaid and patterned socks.

RATIONALE FOR CHIC LINE   People who are a part of this target market tend to

have more discretionary income to spend on luxury items such as fashion and clothing.

  Young men and women want to incorporate the main fashion trend of the time but reinvent them into a young and fresh style.

  Young men and women have become important members of the work force and need a wardrobe to match their career focused life.

  Just as the youth of our population wants fashionable career clothing, they also want fun, flirty, and sexy holiday wear to accommodate their many parties, events, and gatherings.
