LATVIA The Republic of Latvia was
founded on November 18, 1918. It has been recognised as a sovereign state since 1920 despite occupations and rule by the Soviet Union (1940-1941, 1945-1991).
Our National Holiday is November 18, the date of the proclamation of Latvia’s independence in 1918.
On August 21, 1991 Latvia declared the independence, re-established international diplomatic ties.
Latvia in 2004 became a member of the European Union and NATO.
LOCATION OF LATVIA
Latvia is the central country of the Baltic States (Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania) and is located in North-eastern Europe on the east coast of the Baltic Sea.
Latvia borders withEstonia in the north,Russia in the east,Lithuania in the southand the Baltic Seain the west.

The modern history of our town began in 1927.
Since 2009 we are at the Plavinas region. It consists of three small rural districts:Vietalva, Klintaine, Aiviekste
The total number of population is about 7000.

“My gold is my nation, My honor is her honor”
History Since 1934 the school has its own badge
for school leavers. It symbolizes its place of location – where the Aiviekste and the Daugava meet together – and the blue colour symbolizes dreams and hopes.
Every year on the 1st Saturday of February our school leavers meet at school.
