SHARE THE BEAUTY OF

YOUR COMMUNITY

WITH A FRESH AIR CHILD THIS

SUMMERCAPITAL DISTRICT - This summer, share the beauty of your community with a Fresh Air child while enjoy-ing the pure joys of summer in your own backyard! Thou-sands of volunteer host fam-ilies in rural, suburban, and small town communities across 13 states from Virginia to Maine and Canada open their hearts and homes to New York City children from low-income communities through The Fresh Air Fund’s Volunteer Host Family pro-gram. The Fresh Air Fund, an independent, not-for-profit agency, has provided free summer experiences to more than 1.8 million New York City children from low-income communities since 1877. Host families open their homes to children who might not otherwise be able to enjoy a summer away from New York City. Fresh Air children experience sim-ple pleasures like running barefoot through the grass, swimming in a cool lake, and gazing at star-filled skies. Through the eyes of Fresh Air children, families often re-discover the beauty of their own communities. CALLING ALL MENTORS!CAPITAL DISTRICT - I am I can is a 501(c)3 organization that was created to mentor girls in grades 9 - 12. Programs pro-vide needed encouragement, guidance and advocacy to students as they navigate their high school years and move toward post-graduation goals. We are seeking adult female mentors to work with students on a weekly basis. As a men-tor you would spend time with and get to know your student, while developing a relationship that provides support and guidance. If you are looking for some meaningful volunteer work, this may be for you. This program focuses not as much on job skill mentoring, but more on providing a positive role model in the student’s life. You will help the student to de-velop core values and “encourage young women to discover their dreams, to believe in endless possibilities while empow-ering them to make it happen”. The organization is currently looking for mentors in the Clifton Park to Glens Falls areas. Immediate needs are to support girls in Hudson Falls, South Glens Fall, Glens Falls, Shenendehowa, and Ballston Spa school districts. If you have time on a weekly or bi-weekly ba-sis and would like to have a positive impact on a girl in your community, please contact Founder, Avon Scherff at 518-688-3010 ext 102, or email Avon@scherffi nsurance.com.

WHEELCHAIR VAN

FUNDRAISER FOR KEITH

WHITECAPITAL DISTRICT - Keith White JR was diagnose with Hydrocephalus when he was born. Keith has overcome many obstacles in his life. Keith’s disability is related to a serious brain malformation that left him with intellectual disabilities such as cerebral palsy, vision and hearing concerns, epilepsy and fre-quent aspiration pneumo-nia, temperature regularity, seizure disorder, frequent suctioning, shunt in place and the loss of movement. He frequently requires home-based IV antibiotic treatment every 6 hours for respiratory infections, he is also on supplemental Oxy-gen therapy via nasal can-nula 24/7. Keith does not attend a program or school due to his disability, He is in need of a wheelchair van to improve the quality of care and transportation to and from the Doctors and hos-pital. We currently lift him in and out of the car when we go out to the Dr’s, hos-pital or any outings. Keith’s current weight is 88 lbs, and his chair that we lift in and out of the car is 120 lbs. We have 2 other children, a boy who is 10 and a girl who is 16, they help us out a lot when it comes to their brother, sometimes we have to take one of them with us on Keith’s DR apt to help with suctioning him when he needs it or help carry his Oxygen into the apt. We try to make their lives as normal as possible with activities and everyday life, but it’s not easy for any of us. Keith is al-ways keeping us on our toes, we thank the lord and we cherish every day we have to spend with him. So we are asking everyone to share our story and help us with our fundraiser for a wheelchair van. Thank you we hope to see everyone at the Ben-efit. On August 24th. WE ARE LOOKING FOR ALL DONA-TIONS FOR OUR EVENT. Also Sponsor for our Banner and T-Shirts.Event will be on AU-GUST 24.2014 AT LYON LAKE, NASSAU NY. If you would like to Donate by check, please

make checks out to Keith White mail to: 494 North Nassau Rd, Averill Park, NY. OR You can go to Cap Com FCU at 233 N Greenbush Rd. (Contact person) Eileen White 518-674-3586.

Elvis

Lancaster Litter

Doc Kittens

These guys waited several weeks to transport up to the North. They finally got health certificates and are good to go after being bumped a couple of times. They are about 12 weeks old. They are vet checked, up to date on shots and good to go.

Elvis is a 3-4 year old Quaker Parrot. He talks, meows and comes to his name and more. He comes with

his own cage, carrying case and accessories. He also like to be out of his cage for about 2 hours a day. His owner found herself traveling too much with work

and felt it was better that he find a home where they could spend more time with him. He should go to an experienced, bird friendly family. If anyone is

interested in adopting Elvis please call the shelter at 518-654-6220 or come by the shelter to meet him.

These babies were found by one of the veterinarians down

south and he took them in. They are about 9 weeks old and have been given extra

special attention from the vet. They have had first shots, fe-

line leukemia/aids tested and worming. They are good to go.

Holy Spirit, you who solve all problems, light all roads so that I can attain my goal, you who gave me the divine gift to forgive and forget all evil against me and that in all instances in my life you are with me, I want in this short prayer to thank you for all things as you confirm once again that I never want to be separated from you in eternal glory. Thank you for your mercy towards me and mine. The person must say this prayer 3 consecutive days, after 3 days the request will be granted. This prayer must be published after the favor is granted.
