INTRODUCTIONFix Your #SCARS ROADSHOW endeavors to uplift and transform our youth, with regards to the recurring themes of bullying, personal emotional SCARS through circumstances, leadership skills application and of course the central question ‘Where can I find GOD in all of this?’

#SCARS serves as an avenue to present a platform where teenagers can express themselves, discover their purpose and in whom their identity is. The aim is to allow them to make mistakes without judgment and condemnation. In addition to this professional mentorship one-on-one and via our #SCARS mobile application will be provided to encourage our youth to be brave and to help them discover that there actually is NO BOX to think out of because there is no limitations put on our dreams except the ones we put there ourselves.

“Our scars can be our damnation or it can serve as our salvation.”- Ferdinand Gernandt, Producer

We all have issues. We all have scars we carry with us, but what if we can use these scars to serve others. What if our scars are the keys to unlock a gigantic chest of jewels to uplift and transform every person we connect with in our lives? Our scars could be the superpowers all of us long for to change ‘things’ for the better.

-- THE STRUGGLE -- Re-BUILDING Family Foundations

In South Africa, the following challenges tear away at the fabric of our society

Transforming Our Culture through Uplifting Entertainment!

INTRODUCTIONThis dynamic project will empower young people to tell their own South African stories through filmmaking. The stories of South Africa are many and diverse, and collectively they tell the story of our rainbow nation. They also teach us lessons about the past to better arm us for the future.

Film is one of the most powerful artistic media in the world; it can reach across time, language, culture and geographic location to tell compelling stories, document events and spark debate. For many, film and TV defines a generation, and our aim as the producers of #SCARS - Every Teenager has One, is to enable the telling of the stories that will record our journey.

Apart from developing and investing in all areas but with a strong focus on areas where children has talent, but have no access to resources and mentors to build their talent, ventures like these will also create much-needed jobs, as employment of local people will be at the centre of the initiative which champions such development.

We have spent the last 5 years teaching on every single topic we could think of that would help our youth to create a successful career within the industry.

#SCARS proposes a means of bringing social transformation in communities as well as building a nation by re-imagining the relationship between different counterparts (government, schools and civic society), but most importantly to motivate, inspire and develop the youth.

After intensive work and preparation, the #SCARS team is delighted to finally be able to share this opportunity with you in taking the first steps to re-igniting our future!

CAREER MENTORSHIP

We want to help kids to change their lives and skills as performers and creators THIS year. We have been working with 15+ young and upcoming artists over the past two years and they're having some PHENOMENAL results!

Through our proposed initiative, we hope to inculcate a culture with learning and also to provide opportunities for growth to our youth. Through this initiative, our youth could be mentored to start up their own businesses in the Media, Entertainment, ICT and the Education Sector. This kind of initiative is most effective when run in collaboration with already existing youth programs.Listen to this story from a mother of one of our graduates:

My daughter did her rst mentorship program in 2014 months after nishing Matric, which

showcase days later.

I had to see the show a second time, because I cried right through it the rst time. The way The Team changed a reserved teenage girl into a condent performer, more sure

than ever of her calling, amazed me!

Her condence, stage performance, group interaction, well timed humour, on the spot improve. Lifelong relationships and professional career guidance jumped to incredible

levels, which might otherwise have taken years to achieve.

If your child wants to get into the industry and needs an unfair but speed-induced advantage, #SCARS is the opportunity to get it!

- ELNA

MOBILE APPLICATION Through the use of a mobile application, communication between “teens with scars” and “professional counsellors” will be enhanced. This will contribute significantly to address the struggle and help our youth to escape the trap of social ills. Furthermore, the app will be used to distribute the film and uplifting content in a modern way. Imagine, counselling, similar stories of struggles and scars, the film and a series of videos, motivational & devotional content being a click away.

The mobile application will also present features that allow people to contribute to the foundation with ease.

Make a dierence in the lives of others AND at the same time ELEVATE your own!
