INTRODUCTION

What is “Questionnaire?”

List of a research or survey questions asked to respondents to extract specifics information.

The purpose of this project is to studied the variation in students that arrived late to class.

Provide series of Causes that students can choose in Questionnaire forms.

4 Basic purposes of Questionnaire :

To collect the appropriate data To make data comparable and amenable to analysis To minimize bias in formulating and asking question To make questions engaging and varied.

Page 3: Late Attendance Analysis

Pros and Cons (Questionnaires)

Pros :

Can get answers from a lot of people in a relatively short period of time Provide lots of accurate data sets for analysis Reduces bias in answering question

Cons :

Can be difficult for the analyst to ask the right questions if they are unfamiliar with the system

Data obtain often gets complicated and harder to extract Broken questionnaires data

METHOD & APPROACH USES

The method of getting information's and data uses in this project are through series of Questionnaires.

Target Sample ( YPC Students) = 50 respondents from varies of courses ( BIM , BBM , BAF , DCM and Foundation).

No. of optional causes : Provide 8 common causes.

Provide special causes (Other) section for respondents to fills in.

Questionnaires Form (SAMPLE)

Page 6: Late Attendance Analysis

Common causes

Getting up late in the morning

Unable to get transport or the transport that you are using running late

The distance travel from your house to college is far

Always have a traffic jam on a way to the college

Have to stop at a certain point to buy or drop something (example : refill a

fuel)

Your vehicle is old and you have to drive/ride it slowly

Picking up a friend during travel

Your house’s bathroom always occupy when you about to take a bath before

going to college.(Especially for those who live in hostel)

Page 7: Late Attendance Analysis

SPECIAL CAUSES

Five out of 12 students that stated causes in the “ Other ” section had a

doctor’s appointment

Responsible to send other young siblings to school before getting to

college

No transportation

Pursued by traffic police

Stomach ache

Having late breakfast

Further Analysis (Common causes)

3 Frequents causes of getting late to class that student chose:

Getting up late in the morning Traffic jam The distance travel from house to college is far

Page 9: Late Attendance Analysis

Further Analysis (Common causes) cont.

Getting up late

Sleep Late. Family matter. Tired. Forget to alarm clock. “Student always busy at night”

Late night show. Mamak or Lepak Conner. Gaming. Chatting. Return from traveling. Late night dating.

Further Analysis (Common causes) cont.

Traffic Jam Our Collect location

o Middle terrain from main road to KL.

Addition Causeso MRT project.o Walk in office time same as our class start. (8am, 9am, 10am)

Maluri Shops, Aeon, Pandan Jaya Shopso Others collage walk in same as ours.

Cybernatic, KPTM, ADAM, Baitumal, Open University.o When it already Jam, some people make it more Jam.

Driving without care for others Public Transport park anywhere any time without warning Bikes makes their rules don’t give car change line / take junction Distance between cars too far

Further Analysis (Common causes) cont.

Distance Travel Inside KL

Traffic Jam Wake up late

Outside KL Traffic jam. Cannot afford to rent house nearby collage. (No money) Does not like stay with non family. (Satisfaction) Family matters. (Need to take care someone) Waiting for friends. (Carpooling or walk together) Need to wait for Public Transport. (Bus, Taxi, Train) Raining. Incident or misfortune.

Ways to overcome this common issues

Getting up late Set alarm the best thing. Self motivate.

Common case “Big City” Go out early the best ways. Use alternative road. It may also jam but some not very jam.

Traffic jams

Distance travel Self motivate. Wake up early. Use alternative road. Try to rent nearby house with friends Or hostel.

Statistical Analysis & Evaluation Report

Based on Data & Information gains from the Questionnaires, our group are able to produce more accurate Statistical Analysis & Evaluation Report.

Control Chart and Pareto chart are use to present the Statistical of data based on causes and produce the report during evaluation stage.

Control Chart :

Graph used to study how a process changes over time.

Data are plotted in time order.

A control chart always has a central line for the average, an upper line for the

upper control limit and a lower line for the lower control limit.

These lines are determined from historical data.

Evaluation:

According to Control Chart Interpretation & Western rule, this chart showing the rule number 5.

This shows that there is a medium tendency for the problem to be slowly out of control.

The side of the mean for the third point is unspecified.

The test indicates the process mean has shifted.

Pareto Diagram

Pareto chart :

Chart that contains both bars and a line graph

Individual values are represented in descending order by bars, and the cumulative total

is represented by the line.

Pareto charts are extremely useful for analyzing what problems or causes that need

attention first because the taller bars on the chart, which represent frequency, illustrate

which variables have the greatest cumulative effect on a given system.

Pareto Chart Table

Page 19: Late Attendance Analysis

Pareto Diagram (cont.)

Evaluation:

To evaluate which problem as the biggest cause of the late attendance by simply drawing the line from the 80% on the y-axis parallel to the x-axis and drop the line at the intersection with the curve line.

This point on the x-axis separates the important causes on the left (vital few) from the less important causes on the right (trivial many).

We can already tell that “ getting up late ” and “ traffic jam ” are the causes that should be focused on according to the 80/20 rule.

Conclusion

As a conclusion, we can say that those students that getting up late in the morning and having traffic jam are medially out of control since there is no trend.

Traffic jam can be something impossible to avoid but getting late in the morning can be fixed to maintain the attendance for the classes so that it won’t go out of control.

Choosing questionnaire as one of the approach to get the data on this project really help because compared to observation and interview, both of them can take even more time.
