Welcome to the first Lark e-News! Over the last few months the Lark Committee has been actively working on improving the class’s communications. The cost of producing and posting three issues of Lark News each year has become prohibitive and reduces the ability of the class to market itself proactively outside of the class members. The result is this first issue of Lark eNews, part of a number of changes to class association activities in 2009. Lark News, Class Marketing & Publicity It has become apparent that as individuals we, the committee, are all spreading our time thinly which means that we are often unable to put in as much time into class association matters as we would like to. This is particularly true of marketing where we often have some great ideas but are unable to put them into practice due to other commitments. With this in mind we have recently employed the services of Strawberry Marketing to take on the larger marketing activities whilst as a committee we will work on smaller, more manageable projects. With the recent difficulties in attracting a new Lark News editor the class committee has been forced to review the existing production of Lark News. The existing format of Lark News will now cease to exist and will be replaced by a monthly (bi-monthly over winter months) Lark eNews which will be a download in PDF format on the Lark website. We believe it is important to continue to produce printed publications so we have asked Strawberry Marketing to produce the Lark Yearbook which will include a year preview and the Annual Lark Review. These productions will continue to be printed and posted although a PDF will be also be available. Press releases and publicity outside of the normal class database will be handled by Strawberry Marketing. Over the years the class has been noted for great publicity and marketing within its own members database but has not been so successful at marketing to a wider audience. We will be producing a new class brochure which will become part of a Lark Class Information Pack that can be sent out to potential members of the class association. This will be administered by Strawberry Marketing, whilst the class association will be tracking enquiries to help encourage the subsequent purchase and participation in the class. Strawberry Marketing will also be working to attract new advertising and sponsorship to the class which will help fund the additional marketing expenditure. With the launch of the Ovington Lark marketing has become even more important. Importantly the Class Committee remains in full control of marketing expenditure and with the assistance of Strawberry Marketing will work to achieve a good return on investment. Regular reviews are scheduled to ensure that marketing funds are spent wisely. Welcome to the first Lark e-News!
Over the last few months the Lark Committee has been
actively working on improving the class’s communications.
The cost of producing and posting three issues of Lark
News each year has become prohibitive and reduces the
ability of the class to market itself proactively outside of
the class members. The result is this first issue of Lark
eNews, part of a number of changes to class association
activities in 2009.
Lark News, Class Marketing & Publicity
It has become apparent that as individuals we, the committee, are all spreading our time thinly which means that we
are often unable to put in as much time into class association matters as we would like to. This is particularly true of
marketing where we often have some great ideas but are unable to put them into practice due to other commitments.
With this in mind we have recently employed the services of Strawberry Marketing to take on the larger marketing
activities whilst as a committee we will work on smaller, more manageable projects.
With the recent difficulties in attracting a new Lark News editor the class committee has been forced to review the
existing production of Lark News. The existing format of Lark News will now cease to exist and will be replaced by a
monthly (bi-monthly over winter months) Lark eNews which will be a download in PDF format on the Lark website. We
believe it is important to continue to produce printed publications so we have asked Strawberry Marketing to produce
the Lark Yearbook which will include a year preview and the Annual Lark Review. These productions will continue to be
printed and posted although a PDF will be also be available.
Press releases and publicity outside of the normal class database will be handled by Strawberry Marketing. Over the
years the class has been noted for great publicity and marketing within its own members database but has not been so
successful at marketing to a wider audience.
We will be producing a new class brochure which will become part of a Lark Class Information Pack that can be sent out
to potential members of the class association. This will be administered by Strawberry Marketing, whilst the class
association will be tracking enquiries to help encourage the subsequent purchase and participation in the class.
Strawberry Marketing will also be working to attract new advertising and sponsorship to the class which will help fund
the additional marketing expenditure. With the launch of
the Ovington Lark marketing has become even more
important.
Importantly the Class Committee remains in full control of
marketing expenditure and with the assistance of
Strawberry Marketing will work to achieve a good return
on investment. Regular reviews are scheduled to ensure
that marketing funds are spent wisely.
