1.0 INTRODUCTION / BACKGROUND

Professional ethics is a set of standards adopted by a professional community. Professional ethics are regulated by standards, which are often referred to as codes of ethics. The code of ethics is very important because it gives us boundaries that we have to stay within in our professional careers. The one problem with the code of ethics is that we cannot always have the answers black and white. Sometimes there are areas between where the answers aren’t so simple. To implement the professional ethic among the undergraduate engineer, we as the undergraduate engineer’s student suppose to adapt the knowledge that we have learn into a short movie. This movie contains an unethical behavior that always happens among all of us. This short movie actually been done to meet the requirement of 2012 EduTisement Project for subject BDA40402 Management & Professional Ethics. This short movie wills illustrate the unethical behavior in very interactive ways. The first goal for this movie was to make sure that the audience can keep up with what we want to give them in easy way. There will be no complicated words, sentences or act in order to deliver the massage. The second goal is to minimize the participant of the actors. The third goal is to keep the location for casting to be in the minimum as we can. To successfully achieve those goals we all agree that our movie will as simple as it can but would deliver the most massage as it can.

1.2 OBJECTIVE

To promote the professional ethic in engineering field.

To show common unethical behaviour that always goes on in engineering field so that it could be avoid.

2.0 PRODUCTION DETAILS

Location:

There is only one location that we used for the entire of the casting goes on. We choose a room with a whiteboard to elaborate our massage to the audience.

Cast list:

All the actors that act on our movie were our own group members. This movie was be created by using Power Director software in mp4 or AVI video format. This movie was fully edited by using this software. This movie contain with fully animated scene. To further enhance our movie, we also include a simple words as a description according to the situation.

o Stykz 1.2

This software was used for create the animation part at third scene in this video where the bos was firing his woker. After that this animation will convert to video format and put into Power Director software to edit.

o Windows Paint

Standard software from Windows 7. We used it to draw the base line for our animated picture to make it easy for us in editing the animated picture on Power Director software.


3.0 STORY BOARD

Storyboards are graphic organizers in the form of illustrations or images displayed in sequence for the purpose of pre-visualizing a motion picture, animation, motion graphic or interactive media sequence. Creating a storyboard might just sound like an extra step in the process of making a video. In our project, there are three main scene or issues of storyboard that have been created.

1. Greedy

The scene was described about the people who is conducted the business such as factory and industry only for their benefit and to get high profit from that without concern about the environment and community. This scene also include the situation of environment before the pollution and effect of environment after the pollution. The pollution caused by the greedy attitude of human. In the end of this scene, we show the comparison of good ethics and bad ethics by the graph.

As an engineer we should not just look on profit, we must concern to our environment.


2. Lying

In this part, we were highlight about the situation of the sale and purchase that involve the courier services. This part was describe about the material that have been used to produce a product was reduced to low quality. But, before the sale, the product that displayed is high quality. The product become defected during the delivery process. In the end of this part were showed about the defect product that proven by customers. As an engineer we should not just look on profit, we must be responsible toward our product’s quality.

3. Bad Attitude

This last scene was describe about the worker that not proactive during the work time. The bad attitude that usually occurs are slept during work time, working with not proper attitude and others. In the end of this scene was about the consequence of this attitude which is the worker was fired.

As an engineer we should properly manage our working time, avoid from last minutes work habit.


4.0 CONCLUSION

Every aspect of the work is touched by the ethics of the research relationship. It is self-evident that narrative researchers have an ethical duty to protect the privacy and dignity. But, in the particularities of practice, this self-evident principle is fraught with dilemmas of choice that attend ethics in all relationships.

Unethical behavior is any action that is aimed at taking advantage of another without their knowledge or consent. Most define this as manipulating someone without their permission. Unethical actions are not necessarily illegal. The conclusion is, as an engineer we must avoid unethical behavior. Nowadays, many unethical behaviors happen around us. When we avoid this unethical behavior not directly, we can help to increase economy sector for our country. Besides that, to be a better person in our life, we need try to change our behavior from spiritual and physical aspects.
