What is LAMINITIS?

Inflammation that leads todisruption of the blood-flow tothe sensitive & insensitive

lamina

Disruption of the attachmentmechanism between the

sensitive & insensitive lamina

Lamina attach the coffin boneto the hoof capsule.

In the normal positionthe coffin bone sitsparallel to the hoofcapsule

Rotation occurs whenthe coffin bone (P3)

rotates away from thehoof capsule

In the most severecases the coffin bonecan sink and penetrate

the bottom of the sole.
