LAMBDA SIGMA NEWS The Delta Kappa Gamma Society International Texas State Organization Lambda Sigma ChapterMissouri City, Texas Volume 30, Number 5 January, 2012 Area IV, Number 282 President: Cathie Ritchie Editor: Barb Hansen [email protected][email protected]President's Message Dear Lambda Sigma Sisters, HAPPY NEW YEAR! Can the holidays really be over already? It is amazing how quickly the holiday season flashes by. Hopefully you had a restful, joy filled, blessed Christmas. I am certain that 2012 will be full of challenges, excitement, happiness, and anxiety – as is every year. Ah, add to that another big election. It will certainly be an interesting year. We will have to keep reminding our politicians of the importance of our mission to provide the best education possible to America’s youth. The Lambda Sigma sisters who attended the Christmas Appetizer Party all agreed that it was 100% wonderful! Barb Hansen’s lovely home was the perfect setting for our laughter, songs, games, and conversations. The committee headed by Linda Russell outdid themselves on a delightful party. There certainly are good cooks in our group. The appetizers were to die for! An added bonus was the piano accompaniment by Christi Chrisman’s mother (who is also a DKG). I hope you have Saturday, January 7 th , on your calendar to attend our meeting at the Wellness Center/Memorial Herman HBU. The Zumb a lesson should be lots of fun. We will work up an appetite for our lunch following the meeting. Details are in this Newsletter. Be thinking of prospective officers. Nominations will be made in January. If you are interested in serving in any capacity, please let Pat Caldcleugh know. Your leadership and enthusiasm are valuable. 2012, here we come! It’s going to be a great year! Cathie Ritchie
