LAJNA IMAILLAH’S MONTHLY NEWSLETTER THE HOLY QURAN HADITH Ubadah ibn al-Samit reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Guarantee for me six deeds and I will guarantee for you Paradise: Be truthful when you speak, keep your promises when you make them, fulfill the trust when you are trusted, guard your chastity, lower your gaze, and restrain your hands from harming others.” (Source: Musnad Aḥmad 22251) SAYINGS OF THE PROMISED MESSIAH (AS) “In the Holy Quran, Allah, the Exalted, has placed good, virtuous conduct along with faith. And good, virtuous conduct is that in which there is not the least bit of discord or corruption...Good, virtuous conduct is that in which there is not even the thought of any kind of excess or wrongdo- ing, or conceit, or ostentation, or arrogance or dispossession of the rights of human beings.” (Extracted from hps://www.alislam.org/friday-sermon/printer-friendly-summary-2014-09-19.html) EXCERPT OF A FRIDAY SERMON ““You should aend to your actions with a determined resolve, and a solid and binding pledge. ” This means we should make a strong and binding pledge. Then likening faith to a tree, the Prom- ised Messiah (as) goes on to say that even the very best tree needs to be treated with care and taken care of in order for it to be of benefit to the people and indeed remain alive. One has to aend to it and take care of it. In like manner, in order to perfect one’s faith, deeds or actions are needed. And one’s own faith is in need of care and aention with one’s deeds because without this even while having faith, or while claiming to believe, one can not be called a momin, a true believer. Without deeds or actions, man is like a tree whose beautiful green branches have been cut to make it look disfigured, whose fruits have been discarded and leſt to rot and from whose shade-giving branches the creatures of God have been deprived.” (Extracted from hps://www.alislam.org/friday-sermon/printer-friendly-summary-2014-09-19.html) DECEMBER 2019 EDITOR: AMBER KHAN | EDITOR-IN-CHIEF: SABIHA FAROOQ | MANAGING EDITOR: ABIDA MUBASHAR Those who spend in prosperity and adversity, and those who suppress anger and pardon men; and Allah loves those who do good. The Holy Quran reads
And if you fear that you will not be fair in dealing with the orphans, then marry of wom-
en as may be agreeable to you, two, or three, or four; and if you fear you will not deal
justly, then marry only one or what your right hands possess. That is the nearest way for
you to avoid injustice.
(The Holy Quran Chapter 4: Verse 4) POLYGAMY
This is a subject that generates more misconceptions about Islam. Islam does allow po-
lygamy, i.e., having more than one wife at the same time, but you should be aware that
Islam does not encourage it. In fact, Islam is the only religion that limited this ancient and
widespread practice. Previous teachings permitted unlimited and unrestricted polyga-
my. Islam limits the number of wives allowed to four, and also discourages the practice.
Allah says:
If a man cannot be satisfied with one woman, it is better for society that he assumes full
moral and financial responsibility for a second one. Having a mistress and committing
adultery is a grievous sin and causes moral decline of society. Source: Islam Ahmadiyya. (2019). Marriage in Islam | Islam Ahmadiyya. [online] Available at: https://www.alislam.org/

The National Sanat-wo-Dastakari Department organised a charity project for Little
wonders. Little wonders is a parents’ fundraising and support committee for Royal
Prince Alfred Hospital’s newborn Care. The department of Samat-o-Dastkari Australia
made & delivered 167 sets of cotton cot sheets, dribble cloth & belt for Royal Prince Al-
fred Hospital through the support group of little wonders. These sheet sets were hand
made by Lajna Imaillah members from mostly donated materials. This effort by Lajna
was highly appreciated by the Little Wonders team and its details were shared on their

we spread the message of peace and serve humanity. Ameen
