Transportation, Traffic and Maintenance during Winter time

The 32nd Winter Road Congress is an international forum for transportation, road traffic and maintenance professionals. The Winter Road Congress has become the prominent event in developing knowledge among countries challenged by harsh winter conditions.

The event includes a seminar and an exhibition of cutting edge products and services and in addition to this we have practical working demonstrations that are presented in real-time and with a focus on demanding winter environments.

This event attracts visitors from areas as far as Scandinavia, the Baltic countries, Central European countries, China and Russia.

Calling for proposals on selected themes:• Modern Winter Maintenance in Changing Conditions

Procurement strategies, customer demands, operating models, machinery, materials, technologies, digitalization etc. Changing conditions for example refers to rapidly changing weather conditions or customer demands.

• Transportation During Winter Time Winter tires, high capacity transportation vehicles, weather control, economy etc.

•TrafficandMobilityintheWinter Walking and cycling during winter, winter traffic behavior, weather control, winter maintenance strategies etc.

Presentations can offer for example leading practices, research, test environment experiences, machinery, equipment, materials, methods, new procurement strategies, business/operating models etc.

Submitting a proposal:You can submit your proposal for an individual presentation and for a joint presentation (two to three members).

• Individual presentation Proposal is a short (max 400 words) summary of your work which clearly highlights the relevancy. Submit your proposal in English or in Finnish to www.winterroadcongress.fi latest at 7th of April 2017.Oral presentations in the seminar are 15–20 minutes in length.

• Joint presentationSuggest a joint presentation with 2-3 differing viewpoints. Let us know why the topic is important and what are the different viewpoints to present.Name your partners, their contact information and organizations. Submit your proposal (max 400 words) in English or in Finnish to www.winterroadcongress.fi at latest 7th of April 2017. Joint presentations in the seminar are 30 minutes in length.

Oral presentations will be held in English or in Finnish and interpreted simultaneously into English, Russian and Finnish.

No fee will be paid for presentations, but lecturers can attend the conference for free.

Schedule - Proposal submission deadline by April 7th 2017- Notification of acceptance/rejection by May 31st 2017
