• All students should have their own lab manual and are required to bring the manual for every lab session.

• Please read and understand the concept/theory of the experiments and the procedure to conduct the experiments.

Pre-lab meeting Experimenter prepare raw data sheet before lab. See report guideline

All members attend lab

During lab: Perform experiment, collect raw data. Experiment lead by experimenter

Analyzer monitor pre-results and hypothesis

End of lab: Approval of raw data by instructor. Experimenter give results to analyzer.

Team meeting: All students come for the meeting to discuss about results, and sections for each report:

Planner discuss theory with analyzer

Analyzer discuss results , discussion and calculation with consultant

Experimenter discuss citations/references with all

Post lab-meeting

Completion of lab report

All members send softcopy of each section to Planner

Planner compile all sections, proofread and update according to required format.

Planner send hardcopy to instructors

Safety Briefing

•MUST wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): - Lab coat - Safety glasses - Covered shoes

•Other PPEs: - Gloves - Safety helmet - Safety mask

Report Outline briefing

•General format:

•Font type: Times New Roman

•Size: 12

•Spacing: Double spacing except for abstract (single spacing)

•Margins: 2.5 cm (for top, bottom, right and left)

•Paragraph/Text: Justified and continuous. Please do not leave any empty spaces between sections.

•Section title: ALL CAPITAL LETTERS and BOLD, align title to the left

•Number each page (type)

Other regulations

•Please gather at the lab’s lobby 10 minutes earlier as short briefing will be held prior to entering the lab

•Only when ALL members presence then you will be allowed to enter the lab and do the experiments

• Lab will open at 8.00 am.

•Be punctual!

•Experiment must be conducted within the specified time. No extension will be given.

•Allow 5 minutes before 12.00 pm for shutdown procedure.

• Switch off handphone during lab.

•Be in your own group.

•Attendance is compulsory for all lab session. Emergency leave must be supported with valid documents.

General FAQ: Why do I have come to the lab on time?

It is the punctuality that matters in order

to have smooth and good experiment. If

you are late, it will affect the time of

your team as well. Experiment will only

start when all team present. Attendance

is part of the mark for lab conduct.

What if I’m late to the lab?

You are not allowed to enter the lab,

hence you absence is assume not

attending the lab. You get no mark for

that particular experiment. In case of

emergency, show proof of documentation

(mc, letter..etc)
